Last night I was using the phone, and we were searching something on Bing. Waited for about a minute for the search to bring up results, which gave me an idea to check for a google search(cause we couldn't find it in market 
) under manage applications. It was there, along with "Clear Defaults" open. So thinking it might be like when you want to switch between ADW or LP, I cleared it..
Started a search, it asked Bing or Google. So I thought it worked.. till I closed the search, and started another, and Bing came back.
Alas, thought I had something going... So for now guess its root-only. Too bad she won't let me root it.... yet.
