Root [GUIDE] Flashing Cyanogen 9 for Marvel & MarvelC

When exactly do you get the error? Can you give me the step by step that you are doing that is giving you the error? I might be able to help you better. Plus, is this a GSM phone you are using or CDMA?

Thx, i got it working already i followed this right here in case some one runs into the same issue:

Code:
1- open the update-CM9 """""""""""""""""""""".zip
2- open META-INF >com>google>android.
3- copy the updater-script to your desktop.
4- download notepad ++ from here http://notepad-plus-...oad/v6.1.2.html
5- after installing notepad ++ right click on updater-script that you previusly copy in your desktop and open with notepad ++
6- delete the first line
7- save it
8- delete the one from update-cm-9-20120423-nightly-p4wifi-signed.zip and copy the one from your desktop

Feel free to put it in the OP as extra help just in case other people need it.

Can you fix mms for MetroPCS wildfire s the mms_config.xml is set to virgin mobile and not metro thank you if you can get this fixed

Did download and flash CM10 from the links on XDA. Flashed Alternative GAPPS with it. I am actually loving it quite a bit.

While GPS does work (for me - going thru Maps - not going thru the Navigation App) - I am told by the developer that it is not consistent and may crash the phone. For me - so far - so good.

The only issue I'm having with it is that if I try and add a new app to my phone, I get a message about not enough room/memory. The memory does seem to fluctuate a bit - but its better than what the phone is naturally.

Battery life is excellent (except when using the GPS LOL). All-in-all, quite a good ROM in my noob opinion.

I also get the same memory problem sometimes but I usually try again after a few minutes and it works

Are you certain GPS is working with the marvelc version? When I used that ROM I thought GPS WAS working as Google Maps had my position near spot-on. However, I soon found that this was just using regular location via the phone and not the internal GPS. When I tried to track a route it failed... Tried a number of fixes but none worked.
I'm interested to know if your GPS actually works in navigation and HOW you got it working if you had to do anything...
I liked the CM10 but there was too many bugs for my marvelc especially the GPS...

Just so you know, this stock ROM I'm playing with is excellent... I've managed to rid myself of the US Cellular bootanimationimage and load any boot animation I want... loaded a bunch of new livewallpapers and got rid of, or froze a bunch of system apps that were using a lot of battery/ram... all in all... it's virtually a very unique feel but with a fully working system..

Well - Saturday, leaving a competition, I went into Google Maps and typed in my home address. At the bottom, there were two options - "Directions" and "Navigation". I clicked "Navigation" and it went into what appeared to be the GPS mode. I had that lovely lady's voice telling me where to go - and it was TOTALLY accurate. I did not leave it on for the whole ride home, but had my daughter shut it off once we were on the parkway and I knew how to go from there.

This was repeatable.

That's when I posted to the developer at XDA as well as in one of the forums. The dev told me that it was not always working and could crash the phone. On the forum, someone also said it worked sporadically.

Now, I must tell you...I reflashed the ROM last night because of the memory issue I was having (Link2SD wasn't always linking properly). It gave me a few issues reflashing and then finally, fourth try - everything went through well and I've got no memory problems. BUT - now - I can't get Maps to go into GPS like I did over the weekend. It just keeps "searching for GPS". :(

I don't know if what I originally had over the weekend was a fluke or not. But I would love to have it back (and keep the memory I currently have).

What ROM are you using Gryffon?

I am still using a rooted stock rom from Teamblueridge over on XDA and I love it... You maybe should give it a try and play with it... none of the usual marvelc bugs and those guys are commited to working on our devices in the future...

Check it out here... they have roms available for VM/USC/Metro etc...
