Just put it on your SD card, then turn the phone off, and Vol Up + End/Power and and Flash from SD card, and select it, if you have 0_2.

You could start fresh and delete data and cache, but I didn't, since I already had 0_2, and there's really not a difference. Probably should have. Works great anyway..

Eris Root Roms

This is made with OTA updates disabled, Amazon.com uninstalled, and a few apparent bug fixes. It seems stable, my Facebook contacts synced, Google login bug existed still (for me), and everything so far (including WiFi) seems to work.

Edit: Oh, and WiFi being fixed (dhcp, rather) is part of this.

Will updating from the -02 rom to the -03 rom wipe all the apis and changes I've made? and will it do that every time I update to a new rom?

I ask cause I haven't experienced any wifi problems or had to re log into google after a reboot at all. The issue I have noticed is I can't update/ install any google apps cause it says I don't have a signed copy
 
I updated and installed Google Maps and Navigation just fine. And google goggles.

I'm on 0.3. Didn't clear data from 0.2 before flashing.

Thanks. In still on 0.2 and I just tried again and now th e google apps install just fine. Didn't change anything from yesterday when I was getting the error message. Must be like one of those works on the seventh reboot type of problem.

A side note... With the 0.2 rom I noticed on a few contacts when I click on their link in the favorites app and it shows their info saying call this number or message this number out email etc it lists all of these options twice. Any idea if this occurs with the 0.3 rom?

OK I'm having an issue and I can't figure it out. First I had an issue pusing the recovery.img to the sd card because it said read only. I got around that by copying it myself. Now the last command won't work

adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

it says there is no such file or directory when the card is mounted. when the card is not mounted it scrolls through almost infinite read write errors that say out of memory and then says no space left on device.

what am i doing wrong?

help someone??
 
After Hboot screen comes up i never receive a push activate on the phone I receive a fastboot recovery clear storage simlock screen. I'm a newb to rooting phones and didnt want to mess anything up. Am i doing something wrong or am i suppose to get this screen.

Connect your Eris to your computer via USB. Mount the SD card by using the notification bar. Open the sd card folder on your computer. Open the folder where the file you want to put on your card is.. Drag and Drop.

Make sure you drop the file in the root folder of your sd card.
 
you have to mount your sd card to your computer by going into settings in your phone.. Also don't unzip the file go into my computer and you should see a new drive open and drag drop into the drive

You pushed power volume down and power right?

Volume down + power = hboot
volume up + power = recovery

Not assuming you didn't do it right just asking.

it's the main folder that has all the other folders in it. You know how when you open my computer on your pc you can keep pushing the up-arrow button icon to get to the main folder... same with you sd card.

ok now i am getting a screen for the hboot and its loaded the image and its saying press send for fast boot is that what i press or vol up for recovery?

Sorry man i don't want to lead you in the wrong direction. I'm just a noob trying to help out another noob. Might wanna ask one of the other guys on here that know what they are doin...GrdLock or pkopalek seem to have a great understanding of this.

When i went into hboot it tried to load some stuff and then after a minute or so it came up with update yes or no.. you select yes then it tries to load a few images before it gets to the right one. Then eventualy it says push to activate and you hit the trackball.

So you put the file on your sd card in the root folder? unmounted the sdcard from your computer. Turned your phone off. Then held volume down + power.... correct?

I don't think it should load an image if you put the .zip file in your root directory?? it should fail until it asks for you to push activate i believe... could be wrong tho. like i said. I'm a boob... i mean noob
 
Im having the same problem there currently helping me out when i find out i wil let you know had the same screen pop up i think its the download link for the file its corrupt they think

i'm running .03. i had no trouble with google software with .02

i'm still experiencing the gmail login issue btw

p.s: nevermind i got them to work after reboot but login problem remains

Live wallpapers, removed rosie, htc widgets, htc lockscreen, added jit, updated maps, and the android sms app.

It's just a test rom, wasn't supposed to be released publicly. So if you come across it, expect it to not work good. If you install it, don't ask us for help when things aren't working, that's the way it is. :)
