Thanks! Quick question, is everyone out there throttled? Does it depend on the cell tower the phone is using?

4G Throttling just kicked in for me on the 21st. I had 3G throttling before but 4G LTE is new to me. Unfortunately this method only works if you do it before the cap. If your already cap'd you'll still be cap'd until your next month then this will work.

Just curious if anyone has tried this and what thr results were? Also, when I update the phone, will there be any confirmation that it was successful? Thanks!

Ok so i gave this a go. After i rebooted the phone, it did a PRL update. Had to redo the settings. Throttle still took effect

Alright, I've been having this problem for the past few days, I saw a way to boost speed of 4g and/or bypass MetroPCS Proxies/throttling. My problem is none of this seems to work for the Huawei Premia.

I was told "Go to dialer and enter ##data# (##3262#) and a hidden menu would appear... it didn't.

Then I was told try ##*626* or something like that, no multimedia options, and yes I have my MSL and can make some edits just not that one.

Then I heard Use Apex Launcher. I got it, and found the hidden menu and could change everything except what needed to be changed. There is no "Multimedia" option in any of the segments, is there something I'm missing here? Cause I'm running out of ideas here.

My Plan is the unlimited LTE ($60 Plan) if that helps anything.

I never really needed this until now. But it didnt work for me. I have VM supreme.

After I was throttled, i checked the settings and rev. tunneling was enabled. I disabled it before but maybe i didnt save it or it switched back automatically. We'll never know.

BTW im not getting anywhere near 256kbps. Im getting at best 100kbps with a solid -110 dbm LTE signal. Looks like they throttle you a full ten fold and worse.

Edit: okay. It looks like the rev. tunneling enabled itself. I checked back later after disabling it and it was enabled again. I disabled it again, saved, then tried restarting to see if that would change it but it was still disabled. I have no idea whats causing it to enable. But it looks like it enable itself after awhile. Maybe cause im already throttled? Who knows.

There was a period when I could use like 5GB on 4G and they never throttled me, which was great at the time because I was using my phone as a hotspot very heavily. It was always weird because the web interface on virgin mobile would say stuff like "you've only used 54MB" I could only figure they were only counting 3G maybe? (While my phone could see the real data usage in settings) It made no sense at the time, but I kept my mouth shut at the time and abused it for what it was worth :D so much Netflix streaming to the Wii xD

Damn. Looks like VM screwed up. My data on VM was the same as what it said on my phone regardless of 3g or 4g. You got lucky.

For the most part, this seems to be working. Unfortunately, I have to check for Rev. Tunneling is Disable all the time. I have clicked save, but this seems to arbitrarily reset itself to enabled?

Any suggestions?

I have the boost HTC Desire 510 (not rooted) and I have the $35/month plan that comes with 1GB of data. I called boost and told them I was selling my phone and the person needed the MSL code, they gave it to me no questions asked :)
This did work for my phone ... until I reached 13.13GB
All the settings are still as I set them, but im now throttled. I did not receive the message from boost that I was over my data limit, but im still capped all the same.
So this does work, and may last a whole month if you don't use a lot of data :)

So i have been trying to get the msl code on my zte supreme but i cant get it. I have tried countless things all over the internet but it wont work. Can someone help me please!

Since VPN includes the data passing through the leg side trip as the routes through VPN-servers, because the encryption and decryption takes computing power of the data using the VPN always comes with the success rate, which can be 10 percent, but can be much higher.

The advantage of using VPN to Bypass ISP Throttling, therefore, depends on the speed of impact as a result of using VPN, put against the amount of throttling produced. As demonstrated dramatically Nederkoorn g and 10 times faster than the rate of use of VPN Netflix, however, (as mentioned above), the benefits can be even significant.

ok i used this method last November with Virgin Mobile. I called for my MSL and was given no trouble. For the life of me, I could not find out how to edit the Data Profile menu to complete the early step of disabling "rev. tunneling." Beyond that, the Multimedia menu only showed the RTSP information, with HTTPD nowhere to be found in any other menu. Nevertheless, did what I could, altering both the DSS menu and the Multimedia menu. I monitored my data usage, hit my cap, but was never throttled. EUREKA! A glorious few months

My phone was the LG Tribute 2 LS665. I was so impressed that I bought another one as a spare. Eventually, the first broke and is totally unusable. I switched my number to the new phone.

I then called to get my new MSL. I was told that a newish policy of requiring devices to be active for a year made my phone ineligible for the release of MSL. I leveraged my status as a
long time customer and eventually they caved.

I then repeated this process, was unable to disable rev. tunelling again, and HTTPD was no where to be found again. I followed the directions as close as I could just like before. But the throttle bypass failed.

A couple things:
1. My first phone was bought unopened at Walmart, which required a separate activation from Virgin Mobile's regular accounts. The second phone was bought unopened off of ebay.
2. In the DSS menu of the first phone, the DSS Server URL was zeroed as well, despite it not being a step in these instructions. I cannot recall if I did this myself or not. Nevertheless, throttling still happens in the new phone whether it is zeroed or kept as the default.

Any thoughts? This trick was SO AWESOME for about 9 months.
