Have you ever felt like the a button was in the wrong place or wanted another way to turn on your device other then the top power button? Me to and with this guide you should be able to.
I did all of this with es file explorer but it's alot easier to do it with your laptop using adb remount.
Download es file explorer and go to menu settings, scroll all the way to the bottom and check root explorer then mount file system.
Once thats done go back and press favorites then /.
now go to system/usr/keylayout/ and open up dop_keylayout.kl as a text file Your gonna see some things like this
These are what matter
The numbers are what key they are. The words are the operation assigned to them and then you may see wake or wake_locked that determines whether the key wakes the phone from sleep.
So lets change so stuff before you get bored reading this
go to key 95 change CAMERA to POWER WAKE_LOCKED. Just like I typed it I put four spaces in between power and wake_locked. Now press menu and save when it confirms that you saved reboot your phone. When it comes back on press the button underneath the volume down key it should either turn your screen on or off and now act as the power key.

P.S I almost forgot. I just checked and ubuntu still sucks
