I see so many people looking frantically for a thread so this should help all of them. (IF YOU DELETED browser.apk then pm me because that is a much different animal)

Things you need: Root access and terminal emulator app.

1. Get the app you deleted. You could get the stock 2.2.1 apps here: !if you deleted an important system app, look here! - Android Forums or if you are running a different ROM just extract it.

2. Place the app (odex too if you need it) in your system/app folder using root explorer.

3. Download Terminal Emulator from the app market (Don't worry, it's free).

4. Open Terminal Emulator and type "su" (Without the quotes) and press enter. Superuser should pop up. Accept it. In the next line type "chmod 644 system/app/nameoftheapp.apk". Same with odex. If it automatically goes to the next line then you're good.

5. When you are done, reboot your phone and BAM!!! System app is there and ready to go!!!

Any problems? PM me. Always willing to help=P

Another thing. If you deleted apps like Camera and whatnot, you might want to make sure you push all of them. For example. For Camera you would have to push Camera.apk, Camera.odex, CameraApp.apk & CameraApp.odex

Hi,
I accidently deleted contacts.apk with titanuim backup, and i want to install it again, I follow the method proposed but in vain, thank u for yr Help,

If you backed up your contacts with Titanium Backup, you can restore it that way because Titanium Backup pushes it into your system folder by itself.
