Root Guide Note: New AF member who is a new Droid owner's question

Ive got a question about rooting if anybody can help me. I was reading a guide and it said i might have to reactive my device. Well other then the fact that i dropped calls every two seconds on my iphone, my other reason for switching was because my father is a verizon wireless employee and gets a hefty discount so my number is on his account and if i root my droid do i need to have him go online to reactive it or can i do it straight from the device?

Dial *22899 and follow prompts if any given.

You can do it straight from your device. Takes about 2 minutes as well. Just call the number the person above posted and it will be done. If it fails, simply do it again. Then enjoy your rooted Droid .

Actually *228 option 1 is activation
*228 option 2 (same as *22899) is for updating roaming.
I would go with option 1

You might also find that you don't have to do either, as you're phone will lead you through reactivation the instant you turn it on. If it doesn't, however, the methods above will work just fine.
