p/s hopefully Honeycomb 3.1 will include this feature :)

Thank you for this post.It will halp a lot of people.
I wanted to add one thing that I'm experiencing with this.
Just in case this happens to someone else. After I plug in my external hard drive and select mount it wont mount unless I turn my tablet into either landscape mode or the other way around. I don't know why this is happening but it does this every time for me. Once I switch the orientation and mount then it stays mounted till i unmount it.

Hi,

Recently received a gift of an Acer Iconia Tab A500 from wife. Concerned about use of thumb drives and HDD USB drives needing to be formated to FAT32. I already have a few WD USB drives formated to NTFS. Of course they are not recognized by the Acer.I followed your link to download a fix but I could not activate and download the FREE version and the PREMIUM version appeared to require a monthly charge! Am I doing something wrong? Is there any known risk to the Acer after loading the fix? I'm sort of nervous about doing that. The only alternative that I see is to buy a. 32 gig micro drive and a USB finger drive, say 8 gigs. Your thoughts and advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure I would have bought the Acer A500 if it was not a gift. However, the more I get into it the more I'm liking it! I would like to get the maximum use out of the micro slot and USB port and view my photos and large size videos which are on my 2 WD external USB drives. Thanks in advance. One last thing...I do not understand what ROOT is or stands for or does!

On the download site you have to just wait for 40 seconds or so before the link will pop up for free users. I have used this pp twice it is a good app and I had no problems with it. Works great also.
Root is the option to do tings that are usually locked by the maker of the product like these tablets and cell phones. Then you are able to remove apps that you don't like but you have to be careful what you do once its rooted cause if you don't read up on what you can or cant take off the device you could really screw it up. It also lets you run programs that you cant use unless your rooted.I'm sure there are people on this forum that no more about it and will explain it better.
