Root [GUIDE] Root Methods and Related Triumph Info

Interested in Learning to program..? Check out thenewboston they have the tutorials. This was posted in my other thread but no one could seem to find it.

Ok... So I found it very difficult to find everything I needed, from a bricked triumph, to cwm recovery, to stock and custom roms. So I decided to cram pack everything into one thread.

If something is outdated or if you would like to see something added please feel free to reply, and I will update the thread at my own consent.

Please don't forget to thank/donate each dev for supplying all of this, because without them you would just have an ordinary (lame) phone.

Something you may need..
Root Explorerhttps://market.android.com/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer&feature=search_result

So you want to root your triumph..? Bam..!! Here you are.
gingerbreak v1.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=578771&d=1303829207

To gain root access:

1. Download the file above with "opera mobile browser" or similar.

2. Download "file manager" from the market

3. Open file manager and navigate to "download" folder.

4. Locate the file named "GingerBreak-v1.20.apk" and install.

Note: It may ask you to allow "unknown sources" just follow the instructions and allow.

5. After installed, run the app and hit "ROOT"

So your triumph is bricked...? No problem. These are the stock image partitions you need to replace all your old files with.
STOCK IMAGE
http://www.noxtek.com/android/triumph/good_triumph_mobile_image.zip thanks to TheGeekRedneck for figuring this out, and thanks to davidx385 for providing this file.

If your triumph is bricked try this: (computer required)

1. Power off your phone.

2. Hold the volume down button and power at the same time. (look for a white prompt saying "polling")

2a. If you don't get to download mode with the above method try pulling the battery out, hold volume down and power at the same time and replace battery.

3. After you have entered download mode plug your usb cable to your pc and phone

4. After your phone is connected to your pc a drive called "mobile" should pop up. open it.

5. Next you will see a folder called "image." open it.

6. Select all files in the image folder and back them up to your computer. (better safe than sorry)

7. Copy and paste all files in the download above to your mobile's "image" folder. it will ask if you want to replace the existing files. just click ok.

8. After all files have been replaced, unmont the mobile from the pc and disconnect.

9. Pull the battery out and put it back in.

10. Restart your phone. it should be fixed. :-D

Note: If your phone was bricked like mine, then you will not see "polling" in download mode. It will just be a black screen with a back light. Try plugging it in to your pc and see if the "mobile" partition shows up. If that doesn't work start back at step 1.

NOTE: Anything after the above posts require root access!!!!

If you don't see what you are looking for, or would like to see the threads most of my downloads came from look here..
http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...motorola-triumph-root-guide-10-06-2011-a.html Thanks goes to scary alien for putting these threads together.
This has most important threads on the triumph.

MUCH MORE TO COME.... STAY TUNED.

IF YOU FOUND MY THREAD HELPFUL HIT MY "THANKS" BUTTON

Ahh.. thanks. I didnt realize it because its labeled weird. I appreciate it. Once i finish this thread it will have greater tips and details. I just started it last night so i have a great deal of work to put into it. But so far this is what i have done in about 20-30 minutes of time. But once again. Thank you it will make things easier for me to add instead of jumping from thread to thread. Good looking out.

You should note that the deodex "rom" is not am actual rom. It us basically a stock theme with all apks doedexed. I have a thread with the full working deodexed rom. Also the stock "rom" you have posted isn't a rom its the stock nandroid which does not replace the /hidden partition back to stock. I also have a full stock rom on the thrrad as well. I'm also going to reupload the stock and deodeced rom so that it replaces the splash image back to stock.
Oi have also made flashable zips for stock and cwm recoveries on manteras cwm thread!

@b_randon14
Thanks I will make sure to add it later.

Sorry everyone I went camping this weekend and didn't have any service to do anything on my thread. I will begin my changes later today after I get off work.

ok.. so I updated the links and added some instructions for each section. I will keep adding more throughout the night. I will add gingerbreak 1.2, all working kernels, many more roms, and all instructions needed. Just let me know what I'm missing or need added to this page and I will add it at my earliest convenience.

So I did a bunch of work on my thread. It still needs more work, so if I am missing something, or if anyone has any suggestions then pm me or post it here. Also... If anyone was left out, forgotten, or did not receive the credit they deserve please inform me.

You should just link to the threads, not to the downloads. Thanks for this BTW, much easier than having to go to the "Triumph- All Things Root" page and browsing through.

I didn't Link to the threads because it takes longer to load the pages just to get to the file download. Especially if your like me and like to do everything from your phone. But it hasn't slipped my mind... I will probably post the links to threads each file came from at the bottom of the page, but I worked hard today and am probably just going to be lazy when I get back to the hotel. I will post the links tomorrow. Thank you for your advice though. Everyones opinions and thoughts help, and I am grateful for that.

Sorry everyone. I was going to update my thread with some links and a few goodies for miui last night, but after work I read a few threads and played with the Android development kit then I was tired and fell asleep. I will add everything Monday after work because I'm going home for the weekend and don't have internet at my house due to me living in the sticks.

On another note.. Ticker guy has a newer build of cm7 but unfortunately I can't add it at the moment because its too hard to add from my phone. It will be added Monday also.

Thread updated. Although Isaac is releasing yet another build of Miui today. Pheww man, your building them before I can post em. LOL
