Root [GUIDE] Swap external sd card with internal

Now that is the perfect "dumb question".. I have that option on my non rooted Premia but it tells me that if I do that now (with a bunch of apps already loaded) some ongoing tasks will be closed and certain apps may not be able to use data stored on the internal storage.
I am going to go ahead with this and see what doesn't work. If your interested I'll post in a few days what I found problems with...

2. Does this just apply to storage or will apps now be installed there as well?
 
By that I mean sdcard and sdcard2 are now swapped as proven by the need to move storage locations in poweramp to sdcard and whatnot

So, U need to be aware that some apps might need some configuration? i.e. Some apps might not "automatically' make the adjustment?

Q: I have come across the "idea" that some apps can not/should not be installed on an external SD card. Is this a factor? Or, does the OS figure this out automatically?
 
Easiest way to find out is to have a rooted phone, don't do the guide.
Copy the files you would have edited

Use the non root method.to change default storage

Copy files again (rename to make sure you don't write over the others)

Compare files in text editor.

If file a is now file b then this is the same process just without all the steps.

I'm not rooted so I can't do it. :(
 
I had exchanges with TheEmpathicEar, and he sent me some system info before and after using Tokenpoke's suggestion (just tap "default storage location" and switch to sd card).

Yeh, when I look at /mnt/sdcard now in Root Explorer [Tab: "Storage"], it's now my 32gig SD Card, and, there's many more file/folder(s) than there were before. When I click on [Tab: "SD"], it's now internal storage.

EDIT: I used the "Apps2SD" function of "All-in-1-Toolbox" to move some apps to SD [NOTE: This is a shortcut that identifies apps that can be moved] U can see the storage space for apps grow in the SD Card.
 
The only thing I've run into is my old calendar entries didn't carry over. Not that what I had saved was life changing. Otherwise the 80+ apps all appear to be working as expected.

Have U installed any new apps? And, if so, did they install in the SD Card?
 
Calendar isn't a worry for me.. It's all old news... Been there done that! As far as the where a new app loads.. Let me try..
 
I've not bothered trying to set an automatic instal to sd for apps, I move mine manually in the application settings
 
Also, the os seems aware of What can and can't instal to sd.
There is no difference in the internal and external sd cards other than capacity and the risk of you accidentally opening your phone and removing the sd card without powering down or unmounting first
