Guinea pig needed asap

Is that from the "ALL" Stations list?
I go into Southeastern trains first and then choose from the list of stations in there. The problem is intermittent. I tried it a minute ago and London Bridge was working. Came out of the app, went back in straight away and tried again and the error message was coming up!

However have just tried the All stations list and when I choose a station in there nothing happens at all. The entry goes green and when I take my finger off nothing happens!

So I suspect something strange is happening somewhere. May it have anything to do with the favourite station I have chosen? I normally go into that and come out to the full list by hitting the back button.

New Version now available for download/upgrade with 13 Train Companies.

Thanks and Enjoy
Darren
And when I try downloading it I still get an error message saying "package file was not signed correctly"!

this is frustrating because it looks a good app, but is unusable for me until these problems are sorted out

That's a really strange one. don't know what to say..
It does not let me upload the app unless it is signed correctly.

can also be downloaded from:

Darren

Have not worked on the "ALL" list fully yet. and also.

Well first the good news ....... I think the problem was that the previous version that I had downloaded directly had not been correctly signed. So I uninstalled that first and then had no problem downloading.

Now the bad news ........ still having the same problem with London Bridge - but I have at least isolated it. London Bridge is used by more that one TOC. If I go via Southeastern I get the problem. If I go via Southern I don't and can open it up fine to include all the Southeastern trains as well. So I suspect the problem is within the coding for Southeasern only..

thanks Peter, i replicated the problem, so will have a look.

Looks like a good app but a bit England-centric? Any plans to include Scotland - we've got Android phones and trains up here too... ;)

OK all journey details bugs gone, and the whole app has had an overhaul so working a lot quicker. will finish the ALL button later tonight or tomorrow.

will post once new version uploaded.

Ok Scottish Rail now added, and I have overhauled the whole app to make it tons faster.

Also the journeys are fully working now, and also the ALL category is working.

Thanks for all your feedback! and hope you enjoy!

Darren - some constructive criticisms

The trains are no longer listed in time order. Instead all of the ones without platform numbers are listed first, followed by those with platform number (I have tried it on several stations). That means the earliest ones (those that have been allocated platforms) are now at the bottom, which means scrolling down to find the ones you need quickest. It also means that you have to keep scrolling up and down to find the order of trains, when some have platforms and other don't

The search facility now comes up, complete with keyboard, when you first open the app. Fine if you want to search first but most of us don't. I have my local station set as favourite and that comes up, but I have to get rid of the keyboard before I can see any trains. Wouldn't it be better to have the search function hidden until you ask for it, either with the menu or search buttons or both.

And finally (and least important for me) is that the search does not work unless you are already in a train operator or All category. So when it first opens all you can do is search for an operator, not a station.

As it is the changes have made it much more difficult for me to use the app the way i want to (and I suspect the way most others want to)

LOL, you are to quick at the upgrade, this was a bug I introduced, but have fixed, you just need to upgrade again.

the other points I will address asap

(keyboard does not auto open on Desire, which is my test device, so thanks for the feedback, or i would have never known)

Great little app! One small cosmetic critism, I find it difficult to read the red fonts in the column headers because the font is red on a black background.

Version 2.4 is now live with all the above points addressed.

I will change the red font tonight.

Guys, really impressed with all this collaboration.
Darren, thanks for taking on board all the comments. Keep up the good work!

on my Hero the kebyoard still comes up when the app first opens

Hi Peter, I will try fix this, but its hard as I don't have a hero, so I am poking around in the dark so to speak. I have a small idea that maybe because i create the text box last, it has focus when you start the app, so i will create that first.

Will let you know when its live. gonna hopefully add the rest of the small companies that are not on there to.

Thanks
Darren

I have the same that it throws up the keyboard otherwise very good.

Do you have plans to incorporate a journey search like the national rail journey planner ? It would give everything you want in one excellent app then.

OK New version up 2.6 Please let me know if the keyboard issue is gone.
Also all stations should be on there now.

Thanks
Darren

Darren - sorry but the keyboard still comes up.

It may be better to not have the search box automatically showing - it takes up screen space. Could you have it called up via menu or hard search button?

ok search now hidden & called by menu. V2.6.1 live
can be called by hard search button as well, but this does have side effect of calling Android search up as well... looking into this, but it does not seem like there is a way round that

To Come in the future:
-Display Colour chooser - soon
-Favourites (rather than just 1 station) - soon
-Journey planner - no time span currently.

Darren - you are a star!

Now works perfectly. And on my Hero pressing the search button only brings up the app's search box, which then works fine.

I am not too worried about the changing display colour but the ability to save several favourites, with a flash screen when opened asking which one (if any) to go to, would be good.

I am on the train every day next week so it will get some hammering.

colour options available now! Version 2.6.2 live

To Come in the future:
-Favourites (rather than just 1 station) - Tonight/Tomorrow Night
-Journey planner - soon
