Root GUMMYJAR help!

Hi so i finally updated to gummyjar and it has been on the blinking screen where you just first turn on your phone for about an hour now.. Does anyone know the problem to this?

You are in a bootloop. Pull your battery and try again. Also were you up to date on your phone.i.e. .340. Did you wipe data and cache prior to the install. Report back and we will get it going.

Also if you can get back to where you were before install attempt then forget GummyJar and install Liberty. Wasting your time on GJ. All the info and support is now for Liberty which is GJ's big brother.

OMG is that a bad thing? Yes it was .340 and everything was alright. yes i did pull out my battery just now and turned the power back on.. i did erase that data/cache prior to this installation.. what do i do :X

Try this.

1. Turn the phone off.

2. Hold the Power and Home buttons down for about 5 seconds.

3. A screen with an exclamation will appear. Tap the Search key.

4. Scroll down to factory reset using the Volume Down button.

5. Confirm the selection.

6. Select Yes — delete all user data then tap OK.

boot into normal recovery (home+power) scroll to factory data reset or wipe data (can't remember what it says exactly) hit the select key. wait. reboot. should be good then. And by blinking screen you mean it has four androids that looks like the electronic game simon

then once you're good to go download Liberty and get with the program!! lol

Lol thanks a lot guys! haha im doing factory reset right now. and aggie12 yeah it was those 4 guys blinking allnight while i was asleep

Yeah i was going insane! ok i will try to download liberty and try again! I am now on gummyjar i think :X.. so how do i get over to liberty?

Download this file. Place it on your sd card. boot into recovery and flash it. Since you're on GJ there is no need to wipe data.

Thank you! when i looked into my contacts it seemed that i am missing a lot of numbers.. do i just have to do gmail restore later? How do you boot into recovery if i do not have rom manager anymore?

umm no. If you came from the stock rom it sounds like you were relying on backup assistant. To get those old numbers back you can either flash back to stock and sync all your contacts with google by going into settings/accounts/gmail/sync contacts.
Or I think you can get them off your computer through a verizon account. not sure though.

Because before i flashed.. i remember i did backup assistance to my droid x through gmail yesterday but it only says i have 139 contacts looking it up now.. yesterday it synced a good 220. how do i flash back to stock?

well It does take some time to sync them all. So if you remember syncing all your contacts give it a few minutes. I noticed this the other day when I flashed.

well if it doesn't sync them all make a backup of your current rom and then restore your stock and all your contacts will be there then sync with google and try again.

Sorry to bother you so much but how do you backup on my current rom? and when you mean restore your stock do you do factory data reset where you delete everything?

using bootstrap recovery you can boot into recovery and do a backup from there.

lol wut? if you're in the recovery menu and go down to backup and restore then restore you need to restore the backup you made of the stock rom it will be the earliest one. You did make a backup of the stock rom yes? if not don't panic we can easily get you back to it.

OH no... haha omg i just had a panic attack! i did not make a backup of the stock rom way earlier -.-.. but! i just checked my verizon wireless.com and the backup assistant seems to be updated :) so maybe no need for this yes?
