This is 100% correct. In IL, its the same way. I can fire any of our employee's for any reason that's not dicriminatory. If someone is 1 second late, gone. Poor performance? Gone. "Says something wrong to a customer", gone. He has no case.
However, BB just lynched themselves with this. Its just not worth the bad press IMO, and now I'll take my business to radioshack. Classic steisand syndrome.

I had no idea someone who WORKED for BB made this video. You know how I found out? I saw a link to a new story about them firing the kid.
Best buy messed up making a stink about this and just brought a whole bunch of negative attention to there company.
Hey stock holders... What do you think cost you more money? This kid making a the video or the fact I won't spend another dime in your store? I know my lonely little self doesn't matter but I have to wonder how many other people might think twice about spending money there over that.
Best Buy is out of date as a store anyway. I go there to look at the stuff I plan to buy online for a 3rd less.
I think I've spent about $1500.00 there in the past year (couple new tv's) and that's it, next time I'll take my money else where.
Speaking of, does anyone have a email address for corporate so I can tell them what idiots the manager who decided to bring so much attention to there stores is?

He had other videos up about Best Buy service (I saw them on his comic, was kinda funny but not like that) which he took down.

Gizmodo said in their article about this that they would love to hire him and they posted their email. If I were him, I'd love to be fired if Gizmodo really wanted me.

where is this best buy i might just burn it down.... im kidding but im tempted and odds are its no where near Allen-Plano Texas area but ill call and complain and get others to do so too im going to work at best buy and the one im ALWAYS at doesnt like it even the manager doesn't like it well shes a evo owner loll

He'll be fine. He's more talented and insightful than Best Buy's best, so leaving there will be the best thing that happened to him. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a job as a TV writer. He's damn funny. And TV pays just a bit more than Best Buy.
