All depends on what you want I suppose. GrooVe IP allows you to use Google Voice over IP (i.e. wifi) instead of needing a 3g/4g connection. As far as I can see that's the whole purpose of GrooVe IP. At least that's the only reason I bought it since I'm heading on a trip soon and I don't want to pay for the international roaming.

Well, they are basically the same in the functionality and the quality. I used groove IP before and the quality is 80-85% most of the time. Still, today, g voice is only 99 cents. May be you should install it and see if it sounds better keep it, if not you can get your refund and switch to groove IP.
Hope this helps, but it's gonna be too hard to find someone who knows both very well to compare...
