Help Gyro sensor calibration

Hawker

Android Expert
When I go into the gyro sensor calibration, the blue ball doesnt move at all for me when I tilt the handset. Is this normal or do I have a fault?

(If I go into Horizontal Calibration it moves as I would expect)

Cheers butty.
Either its the norm, or we both got faulty handsets.

If it is indeed the norm, my next question is, what does this actually do????

I was reading a different thread and something mentioned about something else made me think of this and it kind of makes perfect sense now (the gyro staying in the middle, not this post). The gyro controls the switch to landscape to portrait and back again. So it has to stay in the centre to give a pivot point.

^ Well I got that wrong. Its the accelerometer that controls rotation. The gyro controls tilt. So still has to be centred for it to work properly.

It's probably fine, my blue ball doesn't move either, get gyro 2d visualizer app and you'll see it's fine.
