H on Unlocked Bell Incredible S

I am running an unlocked Incredible S on AT&T. I put in the right APN settings. What's strange is most of the time I have an H on the screen of which I understood the H to be 3g, but I did notice the phone saying 3g once in a while? What gives?

Mine tends to have 3G when its just idle and on the home screen but as soon as I start using the internet to load up a web page or something it changes to H

H=HSDPA or 3.5G ...close to 4G but not 4G ...lol..

This is what I've observed also. Bell Inc S unlocked on the Telus network.

I mean i live in the UK and i'm on Orange but yeah that always happens.. maybe it goes to the slower 3G when you are not using it to save battery then goes on to faster H when u are using it :P
 
I downloaded traffic monitor from the market. It lets you know how much data you have used, as well as wi-fi. Also has a speed test and an "application killer" Kind of an all in one. However, speedtest.net is a little more accurate. And to answer your question
