Had update 1.25.405.1 update tonight for my Wildfire but what is it and whats new in it?

It's a base firmware update. Probably a prerequisite step for the projected Froyo OS update in Q4.

Enhances support for Facebook status display when dialing
Increases support for Google services like Google Talk, Android Market, and others
Improves combining contacts from Outlook and other sources
