Hair trimmer oil substitute

Can I use baby oil as a hair trimmer substitute? Or do I need any special ones?

Get some sewing machine or gun oil. Both are very fine grade.

3 in 1 oil, WD-40, anything like that will work fine.

Don't do 3in1 or gun oil on your hair trimmer, it well make a mess.

I don't know what the stuff is made from. Is it mineral, vegetable, silicone? Get the wrong formulation for the job it could make a mess. I'll ask my barber tomorrow what he uses on his clippers.

It is very lightweight and doesn't get gummy. I buy oil from the dealer I got my sewing machine from.
