Half-Baked survey

I see no actual evidence of the "research". Coming from Apple Insider and associated parties, I'd say its more likely a calculated jab. Apple = white collar business-like where Android = blue collar tobacco spittin' rednecks.

Remember the Apple commercials where they represented the young hipster who could do no wrong with near zero effort and Windows was the overweight, receding hairline, bumbling buffoon who could never get anything to work?

For Apple, it's always been an us vs. them thing with any other company that excels in their market rather that focusing on their own successes. Samsung lawsuits anyone?

Classic Apple marketing, nothing new here.

They working on getting beats for apples . I hear its to see if a apple has a pulse :D:p. But they will never catch up to android in my book . the android has always had a nice beat and bass to add to the beat giving us a nice pulse. So check it out cause last time we said its SHOWTIME we wasn't laughing just smiles and clapping .

So, their saying that a 5 short paragraph article on a website called appleInsider without ANY proof of evidence, and leading questions for the two groups that they conclude that apple users are of higher class than android users?

Ya... Okay. If it's on the internet it must be true.

Hey that's what they called themselves on the INTERNET . :D:eek::what:

I've met many people on the internet. I have met real people in real life that I met on the internet. It's not all bad, but when you have an article like this then one has to question how completely bias, and uneducated this author is. Makes me feel sorry for them.

Another user posted on the forums here about some article was releasing the nexus 6, and it was going to be released with Android 5.0 lolipop. Absolutely no evidence in the article, no sources cited, no quotes used, it was just like a 12 year old trying to get attention.

Study: iPhone users fly in planes and drink wine, Android users prefer the bus and beer

Er:
I drive a sport Tacoma PU and drive my telescope to Moab for dark skies. I don't like beer. Don't really drink, but a glass of wine is preferable. I prefer the train to bus and planes. We used to take the Kawasaki 750 all over on vacations. You miss too much flying except time.

Who answers these surveys?

Some of the comments on that article gave me a bigger laugh than the article itself.

I think I can provide an analysis that is at the least just as statistically sound as theirs.

iPhone users with money are insufferably annoying in person, thus resorting to online dating as the only way in which they can meet someone. Android users with money are less superficial and have already met somebody in real life that fits their criteria. Broke iPhone users are generally easier to deal with, or are still in college situations where they don't need the internet to date. The low-income android users are probably just that..because people don't usually lie about being blue-collar. The higher rate of divorce is probably the cause of using the cheaper device....no money left.

How'd I do?

EDIT:
The apple criteria that fit me are : White collar, have flown on an airplane in the last year(a few times).

Android criteria that fit me: <$60k salary(but not for long, methinks). I've eaten McDonalds more than I care to admit. Very religious(LDS). I relate to blue collar because that's my upbringing. I used to install cabinets.

I hate public transportation and strictly drive myself around. I own multiple firearms, vote Republican, watch Fox News, but currently rent while I save for a down payment.

It wasn't an Apple based article, the study was done by a guy called Jonathan Sills who works for these guys: Home | Battery Ventures

I'd like to see the actual data, but it was originally reported here: Android Users Are More Likely to Take the Bus, While the Frequent Fliers Choose iPhones | Re/code

I cycle everywhere, drink whisky and like KFC & Dominos, so that must mean I use Windows Phone.

I hold low opinions of Android and Android users, and I will continue to do so, especially when all reports and studies that get released only reinforces what I already know and what I have been claiming for ages.

The comments from the article, especially this one, reinforce everything I think about apple fans. Before anybody tries to twist my words, let me emphasize that last bit: Apple fans. NOT Iphone users.

It's funny, because I fly international, business first on a regular basis, and most of the people I am flying next to are too busy eating, relaxing, drinking, sleeping, or watching movies on the screen on front of them to play with their iPad or androids. The people that are working on the flights are usually on a Windows PC...

I guess it's only the coach passengers that show off their devices :p ...wait I've flown coach on international too...and I've seen a balance of devices on flights.

Bottom line, this survey is nothing more than an attempt to be so opinionated that it will get attention for being so inflammatory, trying to increase hits on the site.

Samsung Galaxy S5 users also fly in planes and drink French wine. The Proletariat and the Peasantry travel by bus or train, drink Beijing beer and cheap baijiu.

Seriously do people really start judging class based on cell phone's?

What has society come too?

Status symbols, and in the PRC definitely yes. I posted last year about the student who was refused employment just because he had an iPhone. And where would you think that Goldvish and Vertu sell most of their $10,000 cellphones? The same country where Rolex sells most of their watches actually.

Vertu have got 15 stores in Beijing alone, they've only got one in the whole of North America AFAIK, in Manhattan. Might have saw this picture I posted to Random Thoughts yesterday, in my own neighbourhood at a new upscale shopping mall.

See this kind of thing all over. Both Samsung and Apple are now in a fierce battle for the new money, brand whore, Gucci loving types. It's one thing that influenced me to buy a Chinese phone this time around, rather than another Samsung. And I would certainly never buy an iPhone.

BTW that's not a fake Apple Store, this is real, and that's a Samsung showroom where you pay full retail prices. Think it's equivalent of $700-800 bucks for an S5.

Well... I'm starting to buy into Motorola now that they re worked themselves. Doesn't bother me that Lenovo owns them. In fact I like Lenovo as a brand but never delt or owned one of their products.

I don't see anything that the Galaxy S 5 has that my Moto G doesn't have that will make my life any better. I don't use the camera.
Other than the fact that it has the LTE and I'm on 3G.

This competition really needs to stop going the route its going. Yes competition but when Apple is going around crying like babies that Samsung did this and that its so immature and the selfishness of Apple is the ONLY reason I have almost no respect for the company.

However I try to be as least bias when it comes to their devices. iphones are great phones. They really are. Great apps, great developers with apps developed better for the device than many Android apps, more apps dedicated for tablets and they are generally first to get the update. Yes iPhone's are great phones. However like you, I will never own one because of the selfishness of Apple.

And I know that Samsung is heading down the same route.
