I'm not extremely techno-inclined and had not intended to root my Inc, mostly out of fear of screwing it up. But I was bored the other day, so I started to follow the most excellent directions found here: http://androidforums.com/incredible...ked-3-rooting-stock-incredible-evo-2-2-a.html. I installed the H-Boot drivers with no problem, got all the settings set and then - didn't do it.
Now the device is acting a bit funny - changing icons on the launch screen by itself (GO Launcher EX); Gmail has force closed several times; a few things -and I'm wondering if I should, or even can, undo what I did.
Also, I'm wondering - really - what do I gain from rooting? I'm not sure that I understand why to do this at all.
Anybody willing to offer some help or advice? Sorry if this has been discussed or is too elementary. TIA.
