Root Halfway through the process, can someone check my progress???

Thanks for the tips!

Can I ask though, I've now got about 5 different nandroid backups sat in my clockworkmod folder - can I just restore to any one of them by going through the "restore" option? Do I have to do a wipe data/cache/dalvik etc as per usual with a new ROM or is it different with a backup??

The effect is the same with flashing a new ROM: if you are restoring a nandroid backup with the same ROM but different version, then no wipe is needed.
Otherwise, do the wipe just to avoid any errors. The wipe takes no more than 10 seconds anyway.

no wipe is needed, period. Everything you wipe is overwritten by the restore anyway.

/data becomes data.img which when restored, overwrites /data completely. dalvik cache is in data, unless using a2sd+ which is overwritten by sd-ext.img....

But like stated no harm in doing it. I have never wiped before a restore though as its an image, like a .gho on pc, it overwrites everything with the .img, including blank space.

Hmmm, just thought I'd go back to the reflex ROM to have another look at it and I got the following:

Checking MD5 sums...
MD5 mismatch!

I did amend the folder title just to say which was which of my backups (left the title the same but just added reflex to the end) and according to some reading, this might have an impact!?!?

Any further info on this error or have I lost what I've done and going to have to start fresh?? :(

Have you put a space in the (renamed) title? Not positive, but I think I read somewhere that CWM doesn't like it if you do that.

Incredibly, I edited the folder name by deleting the extra I'd added and it seems to have done the trick!! :)

Am I right in thinking that the nandroid backup restores the phone system memory AND the ext3 partition on the SD card? (ie. all the apps etc that I'd installed on each different ROM through the apps2sd facility) leaving the general SD storage alone?

Thx
