Handcent and 2.1 Led Notification

Okay, stupid question, how about when you have an app open (such as a the video player) where the notification panel is not visible, how 2.1 handle that with the LED notifications?

Good question.

I think in this case, 2.1 has gypped us out of an LED notification :(
 
OK, did some further testing. If my screen is dark (asleep), it lights up my main screen and I see the notification in the notification area. After the phone goes back to sleep, I get a blinking reminder LED that blinks a short time, then goes off. At this point, I think this is just a change in 2.1 behavior. Not a bug.
 
it does it with my imap/pop3 emails too and gmail, its a nifty change since the led gets annoying when im on the phone and need to pull the top bar down to shut it off.

wonder how it works when on a call now as said above with the video player

Curiosity made me look into it...

If you have the Popup notification, it is no big deal (but no LED). If you have the pop-disabled, you are most likely only going to get the sound notification without the LED (phone was on vibrate).
 
John, read my later or reread my first post, where I added info, there is a change in behavior as someone else posted in here, (yes too lazy to scroll up).

Yeah, I told him about checkin a task killer and i forgot he uses Home++ so I told him to use LWP without it and voila lol!
 
only flaw i see with handcent is the backround behind the popup is one of the default wallpapers and not the LWP im using.
 
Yep, it is working with the new behavior. If I don't touch the screen at all I get a popup txt window, but once it goes away and the screen darkens, I get the LED notification.
 
My live wallpaper doesn't come when a txt pops with handcent....oh well it will prob get fixed.
 
Has anyone's handcent pop-up stopped working after the 2.1 update? The pop-up doesn't appear for me anymore.


Edit: fixed by disabling and then re-enabling pop-ups
