Anybody else seem to think the handcent app drains your battery big time? I had it loaded for a few hours and it's killing my battery!!

Also how do I get rid of the notifications in my dropdown screen, I really dont need the notification there as well as on the Pop up...........

nope i have handcent on my phone and my battery is fine. could be another thing causing your battery to drain alot

I'll look into it, thanks.............

Does anybody know how I get rid of my messages from showing up in the dropdown notification screen? I hate having to clear it from there for every message, it's just redundent...........

One way you can check to see if it is really killing your battery is to use an application like :

SystemPanel App / Task Manager - Android app on AppBrain

I just checked and I have been sending a ton of texts today, but the cpu time is showing less than a minute for me. I assume that the cpu is really only used to load the pop up screen and then to send the message. But you can also use that app to check to see if there is another app hogging your battery power

LOL. I was thinking the same thing, but then thought, how picky have we all become in this place?

Still funny, though.......................................

Yes! I thought I was the only one. I uninstalled handcent and have done nothing else different today and my battery is doing MUCH better. I looked at battery graph and the slope came up noticeably after I removed it.
I was wondering if I was the only person having this issue.

How many question marks do you need at the end of your sentence to portray a question???

I don't think it's all the .................. draining my battery since I posted this from my computer. Boy are you dumb! :D

Have a bad day!

I was wondering if the advertisements that appear have an effect on the battery. They change often so they are somehow being pushed to the phone.

I re-configured a few things and have since gotten a OEM HTC Touch Pro 2 1500 battery and it doesn't seem as bad anymore.........( is this too many ....'s seVer?)

Are you running FB for HTC Sense? I was and it wouldn't let my phone sleep. I am now running the regular FB app and my battery life is good. If you do have it installed, I don't know if you can remove it without doing a factory reset. I did a factory reset for other reasons when I got rid of it and I don't know if the reset or removing FB for HTC Sense, or both that made the big improvement, but the difference is like night and day.

Also, I am running Handcent with no problems.

As far as I know I'm just running the regular facebook app, whats the difference between the 2??

Dont use and Antivirus App with Handcent, major bugs....................... I have no probs with handcent...................................................................................................................................................................

Another vote for "no problems with Handcent draining my battery".

I use my phone a lot and get pretty good life out of the battery. Yes, it still needs charged every night but I can at least make it through a full day.

Handcent is awesome and I would still use it if it drained my battery. Makes messages much more pleasant. As does SWYPE!!!
