Help Handcent Hangs/Freezes When Deleting Massive Thread

Just as the title says. I've got a text thread with well over 2000 messages (don't ask) and when I go to delete (or force delete), nothing happens. when I back out of Handcent and try to reenter it, the program just hangs on a black screen and eventually says it needs to be force closed. Keeps doing this until I reboot phone. Thread is still there afterwards. Anyone have any ideas short of reinstalling?

Not the easiest solution. But, you could try batch mode and check off 50 - 100 messages to delete at a time.

To enter batch mode, go to the thread>menu>More>Batch Mode>Check chosen messages>Menu>Delete selected.

Sorry it's the only thing I can think of.

That does indeed seem to be the only solution. Oh well. And even when deleting 50 messages the ****ing program freezes up! But at least it does delete them when you reenter it.

Well here's a lesson: frequently delete your threads and don't let them get to be 1000s in length (at least until Handcent gets an update or something).
