handcent message alert

hi quys recently installed handcent sms app, prefer it to the stock app. just when i recieve a new message both the stock sms & handcent sms app log the recieved text. i have tried to see if you can remove the stock app from manage apps but dont have the option. am i overlooking something? as its annoying having two alerts all the time! cheers for reading & hope i am making sense!!

Go into the default messaging program from the app drawer, press the menu key > settings > uncheck the "Received Notification" box under received messages.

Now you'll just get Handcent SMS notifications.
