Help Handcent not working?

When I searched for Handcent in the market, it didn't show. I went to androlib, looked it up via the code and downloaded it that way, but it doesn't work - it force closes. Is it not updated for the Evo?
 
Really? That's peculiar - I've been running it without issue for the past week.
 
No handcent on the market here either.... QR code comes up "not found". Anyone?!!!! <--- Sheer panic. That's my favorite app!:eek:

I am assuming by 'other notification' you want the stock SMS notification to be turned off correct? Open the stock SMS Messanging, click Menu -> Settings -> unselect Notification.

Thanks, all, I did find it, finally I didnt read the part about starting in the original messaging screen.

This was also found in the Handcent FAQ's
 
Again, I assume you are all running EVO 4Gs... how did you get the app? It's not in the market and none of the QR code will work for me. Thanks. :confused:
 
2.2 is not out, and is not coming out for a while as Sprint is working on it. There is a small patch that should come to your phone to fix the micro SD card issue. I have yet to receive that patch....
 
Relax - it'll get sorted out shortly. If you see, Handcent shoved out like 3 updates in the past week or so. Chances are there's a snag in the Marketplace. & it'll be available soon enough. Handcent's forums has a thread on it and one of their mods is already aware.

i used winrar to unzip the apk file and transferred it onto my SD card. you can use astro to open and install the file. worked perfectly for me. just make sure that you have disconnected your phone from the computer before you attempt to launch astro
 
ok im so sorry bc im not super computer person :(

but can someone walk me through this? do i download the installer onto my laptop then transfer it or can i download it from my phone? im sorry for the bother!! :(

Just download the RAR file to your desktop. Unrar it to your desktop. Plug in your evo and set it to disk drive. Copy the unrar apk to your evo SDcard. Install from there.
