Help Handcent SMS Question

I installed Handcent but now when i get a text both Handcent and my native text messaging are giving me notifications. How can i make Handcent my default? Any help would be appreciated.

Go to settings in the stock messaging app and disable notifications.

You have to go into the native text messaging settings and uncheck the "notification bar" option

what is the major diff compared with the stock sms?

WAY more things you can customize with handcent. I just changed to it yesterday and I like it a lot better than stock.
