handcent VS. messinging stock

I have used handcent long enough to like it more than the stock app. IM not sure how to remove the stock app from the phone. The problem i have now is when i receive a message i get it on both, and i always have the stock one showing in the notifications bar after i check the handcent.Any help with this would be appreciated.

in the regular messaging setting you can turn of notification. then you will only get one.

you dont have to remove the stock app, just go to the stock app, hit the menu button, and go to settings. At the bottom of the page there should be an option to disable notifications. Do that and you're all set.

You can go into the settings for the standard messaging app and turn off notifications.

I was wondering the same thing. lol Does the reg messaging app control bloo and other notifications as well or just text messaging?
