Help Hands-Free mode

Hi everyone. So I have a pattern lock screen and when I turn hands-free mode on and receive a message, It only says "You have a new message from ...." and that's it. With the old versions (where you would have to go to settings-> language and input-> text to speech output-> driving mode) it would read the body of the message out loud but now it doesn't. This is difficult when driving as I would like to hear the message without having to touch the phone. Any advise? Thank you

I don't think you can while its locked with a pattern. Security feature. I may be wrong.

That's what I was afraid of. I understand the idea behind the security feature but IMHO it takes away from the idea of having a hands free mode. I wish they had an option to read the messages like in the old driving mode.

Bit of a pita but why not turn off security while driving?
