Handwriting Emails-- Does it work?

I am looking into buying a tablet-- i am very interested in the Galaxy Note 8, which I think is coming out in a couple weeks.

I had something specific in mind though-- i want to try to use it primarily for
a) taking handwritten notes at work
b) handwriting my emails.

I know for a) the note has definitely shown its usefulness. But I am wondering if handwriting emails is really easier/useful/natural at all. Am I just fantasizing something that will end up not being practical at all? Or do people out there handwrite their emails as well on the Note and find it useful?

I'd love to hear some opinions!

From what I've seen of OCR (Optical Character Recognition), which I assume is what translates the hand written note to text for the e-mail, I'd be prepared to do some serious copy checking if you want to avoid howlers.

OCR is getting better, but it's still a long way from perfick - hardly surprising: humans struggle with people's handwriting, too.

to me the tablet and pen combo is the key decider between picking Ipad mini and An android tablet.
So i bought the Note 8 the other week and i havent used my Ipad since then.

Handwriting recognition is the best I have seen on any device if you want to have it recognised and put into typed text. Haviong said that however I rarely use a pen input if i want to have my text in type ..just use the keyboard on the screen which is fine.

For note taking its excellent ..just write the stuff up and if you need to keep it you can either keep it in its native format or export it as PDF out of the box.

What else do you want to know?

To me its an Ipad killer...

To be fair if you look at the top it simply says Galaxy Note forum it doesn't specify the model you mention. Yes there may be a Note 8 thread but this one seems generic so looks like a viable post to me...perhaps it depends how you navigate here and what tools you use, like tapatalk/forumrunner etc...
