Hard bricked My S II

Never in my life would I thought I'd hard-brick a phone. Unfortunately. Today was the day. So whatever projects I was working on are on halt until I get a new GS II. I have been a victim of the eMMC brickbug. Never thought it'd happen. >.<

Sorry bout the brick.

For future reference there is an app on GP store that will check your S2 for the eMMC bug, I forget the name (erased off my GP log after I ran the app) but it is there.

Well, now u can get an LTE phone guilt-free. :D:D:D

After many hours of using my best friend Google. I have successfully fixed my device. Turns out the partitions were corrupted.

@HiredxGunz how did you manage to fix it? my s2 is completely hardbricked and always shows a black screen. When i connect it to the computer, it recognizes it, but the screen stays black. Please tell me how you managed to fix yours. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Hey there nyron and Welcome to AF....

Can you go into download mode, hold power button and hold the volume down at the same time, what does it do.....

Doc, I dont know WHAT I've done to my S2, ..... It's stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S2" screen, but I CAN get to the Recovery screen, and the Odin screen. Before I begin typing out all of this, I'd first like to know if you're here listening to me or not...:o
Hope to hear from you soon,
Thanks, Johngw43

P.S. I've wipe'd data, wiped cashe, I've tried to install from cashe, from external storage, from ADB thing.. and nothing helped. I even sent it back to Samsung, and 4 days later It came back. The paperwork that came from them said;
"Repair description: Your phone is beyond repair."
"Fail Description: CORROSIOIN, LIQUID DAMAGE"
Now, I promise you, MY phone, has NEVER BEEN WET, and it's in the BEST shape, COSMETIC'S WIZE, that it's EVER been in... (By that, I mean that it's in beautiful, DRY, and CORROSION-FREE shape.)
Thank you for your time, and I sure hope you can help me.
Thanks again.. JGW

Have you tried doing a One click restore flash of the stock ROM? It is fairly simple to do.

Codegerm,
I'm sure you've already figured out by now, that I'm NOT real good at this sorta thing... I can't begin to tell you how much I WANT to be good at this tho, so any help you can give me will be MUCH appreciated.
How do I do a "One Click Restore flash of the stock ROM? I'm not even sure I've still got the Stock ROM file, where can I get it?

Check this link to a post of mine. It contains links to the one click file and also a link to the instructions, available on the Repository.

Save the link for the Repository, lots of useful stuff there. :)

"H E L L L P"! :shot:
It's ME again..I'm sorry to bother you but I'm trying to fix this S2 AGAIN...
I've done went from one situation, to ANOTHER!..
NOW, somehow or another, instead of doing it the "Odin" way, I tried to use the "Kies" program on my PC, to do a "Emergency Firmware Recovery", on my Samsung Galaxy S2 {Boost-mobile}... Well, it run for a while, ALMOST all the way to the end (I had my phone on the "DOWNLOADING" screen) Then it STOPPED, and NOW it keeps blinking the same thing over and over..."Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select Recovery Mode in Kies and try again".
I tried to do that, and Kies dosen't see my phone connected to it.. AND, when I try to get to the "Download" screen again, it tells me (in small red letters at top of the screen) that "Low battery, can't download".... I cant get my dang battery to charge, cause it KEEPS flashing that Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue...." message.
Do I need to run down to the Ocmulgee River, and see if it'll skip across the top of the River like a ROCK?
I don't know what to do now. I want to just flash a custom recovery ROM on to it, and I just can't get there!
Hmmm, I haven't typed (pecked) THIS much, since.... since EVER!!
Please help me if possible, and...... please be GENTLE.
John "G"

John have you tried a battery pull and then just plugging in the charger?

Had a similar problem with the red low battery message. I just did the battery pull and pushed the power button a few quick times before putting the battery back in.

Then when I plugged it in the battery icon showed up but never showed it was charging but it was and after about 30 mins I was able to boot into Odin/dl mode.

Edit: this was implied but may not have been obvious I charged it with AC not PC

I'll try that right now.... Just pull battery out, and hit power button 10 or 12 time's, and put battery back in, right?

Yep.... I would say if you get any reaction at all out of the phone when you plug it in to a wall charger just leave it for at least 20 mins before trying to boot into dl mode

:( Well, I've tried doing that every which way that I possibly could, and it's still blinking the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kie's and try again."
BUT, when I connect to my "Vista" pc, with the Kie's program open, it dosen't acknowledge it's connected.. So, I don't know WHAT to do now..

I grabbed a different cable, and if I plug it into the wall, it still flashes the same message. But by plugging it into my pc, it make's my little blue led "charging" light flash as tho it's actually charging it.
I'm currently trying to get its Downloading screen to come on, OR it's "Low Battery" warning... Neither so far.
Can't I just send this thing to one of yall, and you will fix it for me and send it back? I have no way to describe to you, just how DEPENDENT I am of this phone. I feel LOST without it.! Fix it for me, and I'll GIVE you (send you/ ship you) my KENWOOD KC-208 EQUILIZER! Which work's PERFECTLY. THAT'S how despirate I am!

what happens if you pull the battery, wait 60 seconds then plug into wall charger then and replace the battery? Do not hit the power button.

Well, I sure DO appreciate all the help, AND all the time you've given me, please don't forget that for a second.. I just wish I knew more about this sort of thing so that I could EXPLAIN IT to you better, so that you might be able to pinpoint my problem better..
So, No matter WHAT I do, it either goes to "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." or it'll say "battery too low, can't download".
Again, ANY help would be appreciated, THANKS!!!!
John G

Codegerm, I tried it exactly like you last suggested.... And did'nt hit the power button, as suggested... But within 2 or 3 second's it started blinking the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Ple.........."

Were you able to charge the battery too try the download mode? Then try to enter download mode, either by using the power button and volume down or by getting a USB reset dongle for Samsung devices (it puts the phone in download mode when you plug it in).

CODEGERM,
Well, I tried everything, but all I get is either "Battery too low..." or "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue....". I am strapped FINANCIALLY right now, otherwize I would've already gave up on trying to fix this thing, and went out and bought a new one. BUT, being a POOR southern-boy, I'll have to continue aggrivating YOU. (ha, ha.. I'm kidding..., I hope I'm not aggrivating you TOO bad..)
So, now I have to find me a battery somewwhere online, so I can continue trying to fix this phone.
You know where I might b able to TRADE, or SALE this ZTE WARP phone's MOTHERBOARD, in this picture?
