Help Hardware Overlay On Screen

ETI_Ltd

Lurker
Hi all,

Hoping to get a fix for a problem on one of our handsets (Galaxy S2).

We appear to have a hardware overlay stuck to our home screen which can not be removed. (Or as far as we know).

Just wondering how one goes about removing this overlay. The overlay states the following information:

HW : M25.15
PDA : I9100BULP8
CSC : Unknown
RF Cal. Date : 2011.4.30
SMD,PBA: N
CAMERA : N/A
TSP : 0x10
TSK : 0x4
UniqueNumber : N

The phone is now on 4.0.4 (Vodafone UK).

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

You will need to be rooted

Download from Market "Terminal Emulator"
Open it and type this commands:

su
echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr
sync

then reboot

Hello,

We have tried the above but to no satisfaction.

How can we tell if the phone is rooted?

And how do we go about doing it if the device isn't?

Many thanks,

Of you're not rooted you won't be able to do the above.

For rooting have a read through the rooting for dummies guide by our friendly neighborhood ironass.
