Has anyone broken one?

With all the talk around the forums about the captivate's materials and build, has anyone actually broken one? Has anyone exerted substantial strain on the phone without breaking it? Tell you're story. Maybe we can lay the issue to rest. My thoughts are that if it feels flimsy, but hasn't had major issues with fragility, who cares what it feels like!

I accidentally dropped mine TWICE yesterday, with only a rubber shell protector, no screen protection: dropped it from about 5-6 feet both times and while I think the protector absorbed most of the fall, there was no damage at all. I honestly think you'd have to put some force into it if you wanted it to break from falling or something like that; the worst case would be it falls and the screen lands perfectly flush to the ground and breaks. As far as the rest of the construction of the phone, as it feels "plasticy" I still think it feels durable.

My gfs dad broke his the first day he had it. He dropped it and the screen stopped responding. ATT gave him a new one for free though.

I cracked the screen of mine within two days of having it. Was taking a picture and loosely holding it so my finger wouldn't get in the way of the lens and dropped it on some fake coral at an aquarium. Everything works fine on it, just that I can feel the scrapes in the screen as well as the cracks.

I've dropped mine off my nightstand while trying to turn off the alarm while still half a sleep yesterday. No damage at all. The drop was maybe 2 feet down onto hardwood floor. No big deal.

Well, I would imagine dripping the screen on anything other than a flat surface would be damaging. I'd try to get it repaired.

Yeah, these were some pretty sharp rocks it fell on. I got the insurance when I got the phone so I think I'm going to just pay the $125 to replace it.
