Has anyone dropped their naked Fascinate yet?

I dropped mine last night, got scuffs on top and bottom.

I'm planning to get another one, then change it out. But the problem is, I need to buy two of them, so I'll have one extra for whoever wants it.

I was running back to my car on the sidewalk and had my phone in my hoodie pocket. It fell out while I was a little below a full sprint. It must have bounced 10 feet along the sidewalk.

Luckily, I have a bulky-ass case on my phone with a rubber outside and plastic backing. It provides a small lip around the edge so that when it landed face down it wasn't actually touching the pavement. I also have a clear film cover over the screen.

Point is... Just like in other areas of life, there's a risk taken when you go unprotected. That's a risk I'm not willing to take.

Actually, I will probably remove all protection 1/2 way through ownership of the phone like I always do. Maybe not with this one though since it was so expensive and I may end up having to keep it for multiple years.

I usually don't drop my belongings, but this time it's so different, because Fascinate is so light and slippery!

I dropped my naked one a while back on rough blacktop and got a couple dents and chips on the bezel, but even after sliding on the screen there wasn't a single scratch!

Yes from my full height of 5ft 10, it met solid limestone and pavement, besides a few nudges and a 1min system freeze the phone still looked brand new.

I have been a huge fan of gorilla glass for a while, and carry my phone "naked". A couple months back my phone fell of the arm of my recliner as I was getting up, so I just picked it back up without looking at it, since that wasn't exactly a first. So much to my disappointment I looked at the screen a few minutes later... cracked! I even got a sliver of glass stuck in my fingertip as i was trying to prove to myself it was really there. All I can figure is it must have hit at the perfect stress point or something. Thankfully I had insurance to replace it, but it was a good eye opener to show gorilla glass is definitely breakable. So just be sure you know the risks if you're not using a case.

Asurion through Verizon. And I've got to say, I've had my problems with them in the past but they really took care of it quick. I filed a claim online the night it happened and they shipped it out next day air, and I had it the day after that.

I've dropped my Fascinate several times. Two of those times resulted in small chips in the frame in the upper right corner of my phone :(.
