Has anyone ever gone from a Windows Phone to an HTC One X or Another High-End Android?

So, I recently picked up a HTC One X and sold my Lumia 900 afterwards to make up the difference. Anyway, I really miss my Lumia. There are a lot of things that I do like on the One X - the reason I got it - but for total user experience and performance, I think the Lumia is way better. I was thinking about trading it for a Lumia 920 or 925. Has anyone else had a similar experience or has switched from WP8 in favor of a high-end android? What was your experience like? What do you mainly use your phone for? I am mostly about business, and I think that question has a ton to do with user experience in the smartphone world.

Hey. Ive never used WP but i love Nokia hardware. Have you tried to find any work around for the things youre missing?
 
I would feel the opposite being locked into the slim pickings of apps in the WP ecosystem, plus the tiles remind me of old GUIs from the 1980s era of computing and I refuse to go back to that. If I recall the Windows Store has less Apps than BlackBerry 10 right now which is a deal breaker. So far the Lumia's only selling point, and the one used in their ads, is a camera. If I wanted a camera I'd have bought a camera. I chose a smartphone, so it has to do more than take pretty pictures. However I came from iOS, which is about as full of apps as Android so I had less adjustment.
 
I think when changing OS, you have to start with an open mind and not be tempted to try and emulate the other one. In most cases you can do anything on android that you can do on other platforms, just in a different way :beer:

Though I wouldn't consider it that important. Haven't actually used it more than once when I still had an iPhone. I prefer screaming directly into ones face rather than via (video)telephony :D
 
Funkylogic: I think it really just comes down to me being used to it to be honest (that and the fact that I, too, love Nokia - can't lie lol). There were a lot of gripes I had with it in the beginning - especially with it not having foxfi. lol. But then I came to appreciate the simplicity of it if that makes sense - that and being able to key out an email or review a document like nobody's business with ease. For instance, I a freelance editor/ writer, I home-school, and on a personal note I'm [now] a single mom. My first smartphone (not counting the Sidekick) was a G1 and I simply loved it, but times were also different. Now, it seems I don't really have the time to tinker and even my bland home screen is irking me. Lol. With that being said, sometime before I owned the Lumia, smartphones used to be my hobby in my downtime. Maybe I just sort of lost that along the way. I don't know. But I am giving the One X a shot as of now.
One thing that does bother me, though, is the big difference in the way the both devices flow.
 
until WP ditches the Fisher-Price UI and has an app store that isn't more barren than BlackBerry World, no thanks.

I kind of know where you're coming from; the WinPhone8 (or whatever they call it) experience is very slick and easy. I'm too wedded to the multi-homescreen environment of Android to change my ways now, but I can see why it appeals to some people. Set up with a bit of thought, all their relevant info can be presented on the one screen.

I have made that switch and could never go back to windows os. Android has me hooked with all the free apps and paid apps as well. With windows there were so many costly apps and not that many free ones. I think once you try out some nice high speed android devices you will never look back :) Good Luck!!!!
 
Windows is slick. Sure the homescreen UI is a bit weird, but the smoothness of the OS is amazing, despite not having hardware the same league as Android flagships. The only reason I'm not buying one is the slim-pickings app store.
