Help Has anyone had any problems with A otherwise (non problematic) phone after this latest update?

My phone won't hold a steady signal 3G, 4G or 1x since the update!! My only issue with this phone was a bad battery prior to the update. Now Verizon is sending me a replacement, this sucks !!

The same thing happened to me also. I am waiting on my replacement phone today. Everything went south after I did the update on Monday.

I never had a reboot until yesterday, and I have the newest update. I just ended a call, hit end, and went to turn the screen off and I looked and saw the HTC white splash screen. But that's the first time, so I can let it slide. Other than that, no new problems.

EDIT: Make that 2x now. I had zero reboots until the past two days, time to start looking at recent apps I installed...

I'm getting reboots now that I have the update, did not have them before. Also, TB will just turn off at random times. Isn't new technology great? <huge sarcastic sigh>

I really wish htc would get there shit together!! They make make some impressive phones but this ain't cool, I had zero problems with my incredible but clearly this phone is more than just a little buggy, I originally was holding out for the MOTO Bionic but it was pulled from there list of new devices ..now I hear its coming soon again, Motorola build quality is the only company (opinion) that compares to the iPhone build quality, I had some call quality issues on my original Droid but they were resolved pretty quickly. I guess I should have waited, to late now, I gave my incredible to my brother and he loves it (his 1st smart phone) after the update I have no data service unless I'm in wi-fi and this next symptom is strange but I'm getting in and out service on wi-fi now, (check your internet connection) and this is happening while streaming netflix using my ps3 with no interruption of service (so not my connection) I think thats a very unique symptom and might help someone narrow down what the problem may be ..just a thought

I had really bad battery life and several random reboots after the latest update. Then I noticed that my software build version was not the latest based on the update. It seems that the update downloaded but hung up during the installation and was draining my battery.

I did a factory reset and checked for the update again. I downloaded and installed it and have had zero issues the last few days. Battery life is better then ever and phone is working flawlessly. It's super responsive again too. I'm back to loving this phone.

So, those of you that have problems might want to make sure the update fully installed. Or try a factory reset, I know its a pain but it did wonders for my phone.

Good luck!

Received my replacement today. It was supposed to arrive with a new sim card (it didn't) opened it up, inserted the battery, sim card and SD card..powered the phone back up, same problem, fluctuating between all data signals ..4G, 3G and 1X ... Called Verizon and of course, I had to go through all there silly fixes.. take the battery out, remove the sim, wait a few moments and power it back up.."how is the phone now?" Uhm, exactly the same!! So after taking me through a couple menus and double checking some settings, she gives up and transfers me over to tech support. Now supposedly I'm talking to there I.T dept..... He couldn't fix it either...(getting irritated) transfers me to 4G tech support ..she asked me to remove my battery while she does something on her end and to please wait to power it back up when she tells me to..powered back up and HELLO 4G..waited about 5 min and concluded that it was fixed, 4g held strong.. now it gets a little strange...she then asked me to verify the current software and build # and turns out that this phone arrived without the current OTA update...I say that's weird because my phone was behaving exactly the same as the device I was trying to replace but without the same firmware. So maybe, my sim card is the problem? she then asked me to check for the update and even though I was reluctant to do so (for obvious reasons) she insisted that the update issues I had were a fluke and that no one is reporting any issues that she is aware of. (she checked her forums) anyway the update was not found and 4g held strong, I said thank you and went about my business.. after about an hour or so, my phone went to 1X for just a second and BOOM the update appeared without me checking for it.. downloaded the update and LOST 4g again!!! hmm?? But this time the symptoms were slightly different...the phone held a strong 3g signal and after about an hour 4g came back, tried to go to the internet and I get "please check your internet connection settings" now that the phone updated again, I'm going to call Verizon tomorrow morning and ask them to do whatever they did again and maybe everything will be fine. I asked the tech what she did and all she said was that she re-set my sim card. Sorry for this long ass post, just trying to help everyone who is having similar issues. Hope I've helped someone

simply put, htc has screwed us over!

i'm on my 6th replacement.

Well happy to say (im done with HTC) I'm on my 3rd replacement and my issue could not be resolved. Phone will NOT lock on to any signal ..just bounces through all available data signals . They of-course offered me a 4th replacement but I said no!! I've been a customer for 20 years now (I think they were Ameritech when I became a customer) I reminded them and insisted on a different phone and they are now sending me a Droid Charge.. I'm glad to say goodbye to HTC but I'm also a little sad. The Charge is a very nice device but I hate physical buttons and the phone has obvious browser lag, less internal memory and single led flash, and gets walked when comparing bench test scores but seems to have no issues I'm aware of. This will be my 1st Samsung device, so I hope I don't regret my decision. They also offered me the LG revolution but it had even less internal memory and only a 5 megapixal camera. So off I go, good luck to you all and I hope htc gets there shit together and fixes all of everyone's concerns.

Just had first random reboot with MR2 - had lots with MR1 - HOPEFULLY - it's not a case of something not playing nice - or - I suspect that it will be a fairly regular occurance. . .

ME!!!! I have had a lot of problems with my phone since the update. Random restarts, laggy screens, loss of service, etc.

Verizon replaced my phone with the Droid Charge after my 3rd replacement... And they're about to replace my friends too, he however does not like Samsung devices, and so he's going to wait for a new HTC model... Charge looses connection every so often too but never requires me to remove battery and sim, a simple restart takes care of it and it's a not an every day occurrence. The charge is also laggy right out of the box, however its easily fixed with root, so I'm ok with it.

I had no issues prior to first update, then all kinds of issues after. 2 replacements, 5 sim cards later, the new update fixed all issues. Phone finally working correctly again with O issues. And now my area just got 4g!

Finally happy again! As far as battery life goes, go on Amazon and buy 2 batteries and charger from guy in Hong Kong. Like $13 and they work fine! I have multiple ones stashed at work and home.

Im having the same problems, My new phone will be here monday.

I have a day of release TB and except for the initial battery issues, no big problems. I did all (and I mean ALL) of the battery tricks and finally got it under control, good life all day, charge at night. 1st update left me untouched. I really felt for all the others that had the re-boots and other issues cause I came thru it clean. Did make me worry about this one though. So this one finally came and now: Battery life went south. Found some of the problems and fixed, like update reset to 4gLTE by default, screen back on full bright, all services on and Blockbuster was up to its old tricks except this time it had a setting to get it to stop. Found "Stock" was updating and found I could uninstall not so I did. Reset everything, it's better, but somethings still draining it worse than before update (any idea's?)
Next issue is it's now randomly dropping the Mobile network (connection failed). I've searched for answers but so far no luck. Most are complaining about dropping 4G, which I dont have and anyway I reset the phone to CDMA (which changed it's method and look...hmmm???) So still looking for advice on that.

Since the update my notification sound changed to a mp3 song in my music library. I reset to the sound I want but it still plays the same song. I have no idea how to stop it from happening. there is no way for it to pick a song and set it as a notification sound so I have no idea why it is happening.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thnx

The update messed my phone up also. It did all of the above and I could not end a call the screen was always blank and I had to unlock the phone to end a call plus the whole bottom right corner of my touchscreen went dead at times and when typing some of the letters did not respond at all and the screen would just jump all over for about 2 minutes and them clear up. Got my replacement today and it does not have the new ota update and will not have it

My phone has been dropping calls left and right since the update. Verizon is sending me a replacement that was ordered today. I am praying that it doesnt have the new software in it already. When was yours shipped to you?
