Help Has anyone had issues downloading PDA Net 3.02

Hi I recently switched from a Samsung Fascinate(Verizon) to a Motorola Photon 4g(Sprint) and I'm getting acquainted with the Photon sub-forum and I noticed that PDA Net seems like a great app but I can't seem to find it on the marketplace on my phone and when I try to download it from my laptop to push it to my new phone, it has the option grayed out. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Just switched my primary phone on the android marketplace site to the photon 4g and the site now confirms my fears:

This app is incompatible with your Photon 4G.

This item is not available on your carrier.

Is there anyway around this?

Get a Lapdock 100--problem solved ;) Mine arrives Monday. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Cool cool. I was just looking for a cheap(should read free) way to tether my phone to my lappy for times when I need to go online while I'm in a meeting away from the office.

It's Sprint turning into VZW and AT&T. They are now carrier blocking tethering apps just like the rest.

The Carrier Crackdown Continues: Sprint Now Blocking Tethering Apps In The Android Market

I recall back when the netflix app finally came out for certain devices, there was a way around the restriction by pushing the app to your gmail acct. Am I mistaken in thinking that was a thing that really happen and if not, would there be anyway to do it with this particular app?

I'm really not sure. The only way to get tethering apps installed from what I understand is by side loading now though.

Well this is embarrassing. Apparently, I don't need to download the app from the marketplace after all. Initially, the developer wrote it out to say you had to download it from the marketplace and also for your computer but when going deeper into the help section, I noticed that you can just push it to your phone by installing the app to the computer, then plugging in your phone and running it like that. I just tried it out and it seemed to work fine. huzzah!

You can download pdanet from their website. Just type pdanet in google and select the first one that pops up. That's how I got it.
