Root Has anyone installed a custom rom on a rogers captivate?

I'm having trouble installing serependity just because my phone is the rogers model, and the fact that it's basic stock firmware is not the 2.1 eclair but the 2.2 froyo (when i got it out of the box it was 2.2) has anyone managed to flash a custom rom on a rogers phone using 2.2 stock froyo??
 
I have had the Captivate since it was first launched by Rogers. I updated it to Froyo when the update came out, and now I run Andromeda 2.1 on it. I will change soon though because I don't like the black theme. Some of the screens are not legible (black font on dark background).

All I did was root it, then apply the new ROM. The trickiest part was to find a computer running Kies. I never could get it to run on my main machine, so no update, but I finally found another computer where I could install and run kies, and get the Captivate drivers installed correctly.
 
i was in the same boat as you but i just downgraded to rogers 2.1(which isnt hard at all) then loaded the customs rom
