Has anyone NEVER dropped their smartphone?

You must have some kind of spider sense to have never dropped your phone.

I dropped my previous dumb phone from over a 100 ft on a roller coaster. I would love to say it survived but sadly, I never saw it or my un-backed up phonebook again. To this day I consider it payback for shadily getting into the theme park for free.

so.. how do you feel using that NOTE in public? talking on it with it next to your face? in pockets of jeans? or shorts?

Not bad at all actually. I've gotten some funny looks from people while talking on the phone, but that's about it. (Most people think I'm using a smaller tablet.) It easily fits in all of my pockets, after using it for a while I don't think I could go back to a smaller device. Having such a huge screen is so much better than I thought it would be, especially for playing games, or browsing.

Dropped onto our brand new hard tile kitchen floor and shattered the screen on my Droid 3 a few months ago. Anger abounded. :D

I've dropped my GNex probably 5 or 6 times in the 3 weeks I've had it. Still in perfect condition though. I don't know what it is but I find that phone hard to hold onto sometimes.

I did have a pretty lucky catch at a concert though. Two of my friends were messing around and I was standing next to them when one of them swung his arm around and hit my phone pretty hard. Flew out of my hand and I managed to catch it before falling 4 feet onto a hard floor.

Most of my drops are from my night stand. I would somehow pull the cord as I walk by and the phone would hit the floor. It's a 2.5 feet drop, so nothing big. I do have insurance but it's due to incidental theft or me losing my phone. It has happened twice so far, lol.

It's so nice to know I'm not the only one in the world who does that on a seemingly daily basis. I stopped charging my bionic overnight and the problem is almost gone! :)

But seriously, all I have on my bionic is a cheap ebay TPU case ($3 shipped from ebay) and a screen protector ($.01 shipped on ebay) and it takes drops like a tank. It added very minimal bulk and looks sleek without sticky material so I couldn't ask for a better combo!

Dropped it on a variety of materials such as rock, gravel, concrete, asphalt, carpet, etc. (thank goodness not water!) and it and the case look brand new. I'll upload a pic when I get home to show you ;)

Sometimes my excellent bowling skills come into effect when I'm moving my phone from my pocket to the front of my face. My phone has suffered LOTS of drops, tosses, and even rage throws. That's why I ALWAYS have a case and screen protector on the phone. Not a single scratch on the surface of the phone :)

But you should check out the phone I had before it...

Never dropped this one so far.... this one is supposedly "life-proof".... I have no desire to test this out. For all the manufacturer claims, it's still no JCB phone. I just don't trust those claims . I even have a leather sleeve, which subconsciosly gives me extra pride in it.

It's a bit like losing wallets - you learn from expensive mistakes ;) :D

I did once dropped my old LG Saber after 3 weeks of having it. The back cover and battery came out but the phone kept on going with no issues. It was a great talk & text phone. I still have it but retired it after getting the Strat...

I've never dropped my Galaxy S2.
I rarely have the phone in my hand unless I'm calling or texting.
Otherwise it's on a desk or in my pocket.

I have the Otterbox case for it, though.

When I first got my Intercept (yeah yeah, I know, dinosaur tech) I would drop it every once in a while. Luckily the only damage was the call button got stuck out of place but it fixed itself the next time I dropped it. I think that was the last time except maybe once more.

that makes about 8 months since the last time.

Lol. That reminds me of those old cartoons when somebody gets amnesia from a bonk on the head, then they have to get hit on the head again to get their memory back.:p

I have a two year old, I use a tpu case and screen protector.. And my daughter plays with my phone all the time.. Been dropped, kicked, jumped on, thrown... Even had juice poured on it.. Still works flawlessly, not scratched.. Still looks perfect... Love LG hardware.. My old Huawei is another story.. Set it on my table woke up the next morning and the screen was cracked.. Lol, the LCD.. Not the touchscreen.. How that happens I have no clue...

Never. Not once. My Dinc still looks "incredible". My Gnex is still pristine. I DO have a case on my Gnex because it felt a bit flimsy.....but this is the first case I've used. My Dinc was always "naked".

How you NOT drop your phone, what kind of lifestyle do you live? (no offense intended) I'm just surprised.

I like having naked phone, but I know I'll drop it on a hard surface eventually and I'm not a clumsy person either. Sometimes it's circumstances beyond my control.

I wish phones were made of titanium or magnesium so I wouldn't have to use a protective case.

As long as I'm wishing, how about some kind of spray-on flubber material we can completely wrap our phones in, and because it's flubber it'll just bounce back up to our hands when we drop it on asphalt while jogging instead of shattering the gorilla glass screen that was supposed to be tough but really isn't and have to painstakingly replace it with a new digitizer.

Wait. You were using your phone on a roller coaster? And you think I must have some kind of spider sense? Nah, it's just another more common kind of sense. ;)

I'm frankly on the opposite side of that fence, wondering why people are so careless with such expensive devices.

I Whitewater raft, kayak, and canoe, but I have a small pelican case that my phone stays in while on the water.

I mountain bike, hike, and camp (anywhere from a couple days to a whole week.

I snowboard as much as possible in the winter, including annual trips to Colorado.

I use my phone very regularly, and it goes everywhere I go. But I'm very conscientious about when and how I actually use it, such as the aforementioned never using it while on the water, and making sure it's in a secure place when I'm not actually using it.
