Has anyone tried the alarm?

You have a Task Killer installed that isn't set to ignore the Alarm?? Can't tell you how many people have non-working alarms because Task Killer is canceling them.

Alarm worked fine for me. Make sure you don't have 'vibrate' checked in the alarm settings. I did this the first time, but it was still loud enough to wake me, since it was sitting next to my head (fell asleep listening to tunes)

I have used the alarm the last two nights and it worked great. I love the dimmed screen while sitting in my bedside charging dock. A great addition to the phone.

Just one more thing I love about this device.

Mine woke me up perfectly fine, even slightly muffled by my otterbox. I have the otterbox defender and I use the belt holster like a dock stand with the screen facing out at night. This leaves the speaker facing the back of the holster, but is still plenty loud to wake me. The only thing I do not like about this setup is that I can't access the unlock button without taking it out of the holster.

Do you guys turn your phones off? I turned my phone off and it didn't turn itself on to set off the alarm (this is something my old phone did).

No Android phones do this. I'm pretty sure Blackberry's are the only smartphone that still do this. Why would you need to turn your phone off at night, anyway?

Most smartphones don't turn themselves on to trigger the alarm as it would mean the phone is still on consuming battery. So these phones don't turn on by themselves to prevent complete battery drain. I don't have a problem with this as I never turn off my phones - there simply is no need to do so with todays technology. If the phone rings or alerts during the night due to typical settings, then simply switch to silent mode when you go to sleep, and back to normal mode when you wake.

Lots of people turn their phones off at night. I don't, but I've been told that the iPhone will do it also (not going to try it).

I need to leave the phone on for calls, but would like a one-shot way to turn off anything else that beeps and boops.

Be glad it isn't a Captivate, that lights up and rings to tell you it is fully charged, get out of bed and unplug the charger.

...also make the option for when it's in 'silent' is NOT on. Otherwise if the device is in silent mode, you'll NOT get\hear the alarm.

the alarm is the most used thing on my phone lol

I have two jobs... alarms set for waking up, leaving for work, leaving work, do book work, get my butt to bed to start over again (ok that last one's name is a bit long but you get the picture)
