has anyone tried the hyperion aftermarket batteries?

I have them, they work fine but at 1800mAh didn't seem to give me much more battery life vs. the stock 1650mAh battery

Agree with that. They work fine (make sure you get the ones made for the AT&T GS2 SGH-i777) but I would also agree that I don't see a significant increase in battery life over the stock Samsung battery. It is nice though to be able to just swap the battery out when you want. The charger works fine with either battery.

My same thoughts, I just plopped in my first one the other day and it is similar to the stock batteries in terms of life, but the charger and spare batteries being so easily portable I can stash them when on trips and not have a bulky phone, a quick swap will always have my phone at full charge while the backup battery charges :) So for the minimal charge I thought it was worth it!
 
thanks for the info... im going to get them for $18ish (2 batteries + charger). ebay is the best way to go... amazon prices are too expensive.
 
they should be able to... my batteries will probably arrive on monday, so i'll let people here know what my experience is.
 
i believe some people are complaining of boot loops with these batteries, but that may be from the old stock.

they charge when in the phone... but i have noticed that on the first charge, the battery drains a bit faster. the phone was idle for 80 minutes (screen not turned on, no wifi, 3g, or anything major running in the background) and i lost 7% battery life. original battery would lose probably about 1%-2% in that time. also, it took about 2 1/2 hours of me leaving the LED flashlight, screen at full brightness, and wifi on to drain to 5%. that's not terribly bad at least.

will wait for 3-4 more cycles to see how it all works out.

People were getting the boot loop because they bought the i9100 batteries as the AT&T and international version are very similar. The i9100 batteries work (as far as I know) but will cause a boot loop if you try and charge them in the phone.

The Hyperion batteries made for the AT&T SGS2 can be charged in the phone or in the charger.

My only issue with the batteries, even the stock Samsung, is they take forever to charge from near empty to full so having a backup or two is nice as throw one in the charger and use the other.

Good to know!!! I hate how long it takes to charge the stock battery. I can shut my phone off, let it charge for 30-45 min, and it'll still only be 50% when I turn it back on.

I got an amazon gift card for my birthday, so I went ahead and ordered this last night. :)

Fast charging rates are murder on these types of batteries and will shorten the life dramatically. Best to use the factory charger for overnight charging if you can last that long, and reserve flash charging from your usb cable to your laptop judiciously.

and i don't know if it's me only, but i think the battery holds up well when idle.. but when i'm using the phone, it seems to drain faster.

I don't know how that is possible when the charger is rated at 700 mAH and the battery is what 1650 or 1700mAH?

My phone just arrived and it is slow as molasses charging right now. Been on an hour, and not even half way charged.
 
ok i'd just like to warn some people that if they buy this battery, the capacity should be about the same as OEM, but for whatever reason.. i think it burns power faster, and i realistically only get 60%-65% of the regular OEM battery life.

i would not recommend these batteries, especially if they will cost you $25.
 
Two batteries and a separate charger for that much, though. Totally worth it as just a means of a backup battery, IMO.
 
well, i don't mind my purchase since it only cost me $15 for 2 batteries and a charger.. but at $25, i'd rather just buy an OEM charger.

the extra charger you can buy for $2 anyways.
 
One that charges a battery outside of the phone?

In other news, I do find that these batteries drain faster than the stock one. Weird, though..one was noticeably faster draining than the other.
