Has anyone tried to use Fring for videocalling?

The video works great (albeit odd because it's back camera only) but only the receiving party can hear the caller (the caller can't hear the receiver). Is this by design (a limitation in fring) or a bug?

I tried it with a friend (we both had wifi connection) and I was very disappointed by the quality of both video and sound. Video froze a lot and sound would just cut off randomly. Also, I find it very annoying that there is no option to turn off or change notification sounds (if there is, I couldn't find it.) I'm waiting for the new skype app.
