Root hate the lag

Newbie
I came from a Droid X to the Fascinate, and I really like the phone. the screen is great and the battery last better than my X did. so far the only thing that bugs me about the phone is the LAG
I have not been able to put my finger on what makes it lag or how to fix it, but there have been times it almost seems like the phone is locked up. every once in a while it takes maybe a minute for it to do something. I have even missed 2 calls because I try to answer and it just will not not move. I sure hope that if and when we get an update that they fix this. other than the lag I can not find anything about this phone that is bad for me. I really like it and will even put up with the lag but sometimes it sure does make me mad. I rooted it on day one so I could have wireless tether. maybe that makes the lad worse???????????? I do not know since I did not use it unrooted. maybe it is all my fault
I just needed to vent a little

Ryan's One Click Lag Fix is an app in Market that cures lag for some users in the Fascinate. For some it has no effect at all; try it and reboot, perhaps it'll work for you as it does for some others with lag issues.

Also, you didn't say much about your configuration, but it's possible that you've got too many things syncing and updating in the background (Facebook, gmail, weather, news, etc). I'd go through all apps and make adjustments.

Some find that tossing all live wallpapers and even the live wallpaper "picker" help with slowdowns.

More suggestions will come along... post something about what you've tried and about your configuration; maybe we can help more.

rooting alone would not have affected or added to lag...all it does is allow you extra permissions not allowed originally on the phone.

reducing the amount of widgets and programs syncing in the background (fb, twitter) will help...removing lwp as well.

if you are using multiple launchers as well (some people keep tw, lp, adw, etc all installed at once) will significantly slow you down...at the very least keep only 2 and remove the widgets from the one you arent currently using.

since you are rooted...you many want to install cwr HOW TO:Root, Install Clockwork, Remove Bloatware, and more*updated 12/3/10* - xda-developers enable you to flash slimmed down roms (safer than manually removing bloat if you dont know what u are doing) and custom kernels....custom kernels will be the single biggest thing you can do to smooth out the performance of your phone

make sure you have the samsung drivers installed on your computer and that you have the odin restore files just in case...Odin Restore files to get you to stock - xda-developers

if you dont use touchwiz and dont need social networking sync....replacing it in system/app is an effective mod as well: http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/205635-goodbye-touchwiz.html

make sure that when getting roms/kernels that they are compatible with dio1 as many are dj05 based...you may want to go to dj05 at some point....but i say take it one step at a time as doing too much too soon can get messy :o

and please avoid voodoo until you fully understand what it is/does...a good self test for voodoo is the "quiz" in saps op for the oc voodoo thread :D: http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/235766-got-your-oc-voodoo-right-here-but.html

thanks for the good info. I think the only things I have sync are email and weather info from beautiful widgets. I will have to look closer to what all I have running that can cause my problem.
