iv had my contract since just before the change to slcd, i had an amoled screen but the phone was exchanged after a fault. is there any way to pinpoint the screen type as iv asked virgin and they have no idea, and there was no booklet with the phone and it came in virgin packaging not htc

thanks for any help

fix

i would guess at it being LCD, though i think one way of telling is to look at a black screen in the dark , if it is LCD then you will see the tell-tail light bleed from the edges of the screen, like most LCD screens suffer from.

the phone was exchanged about 4 weeks after virgin stopped selling them last year. and the slcd screens had only been given out for a few weeks before that. the opperator from virgin said the other day that the 1 i got would have been a return that was reconditiond like new. so im thinking odds are it would be from the amoled series of phones....

if i have a go at rooting this 1 as a amoled and its actuly a slcd what dammage can be done to it??

thanks for ur help

Install Android System info from the market. Click system, scroll down to display & look at the density figure.

Apparently the Amoled screen has 252 dpi, the SLCD 240.

I say apparently, from what I've gathered elsewhere on the 'net. Mine is definitely SLCD and has the 240 dpi, can someone with a definite Amoled confirm 252?

Kris.

well mine says 240 in the app elixir , but it also in the more info says 254 ...

mine is brand new and boxed as amoled
