Help Have i got this right?? is my SGS2 on Indian Firmware?!

Wyrdstorm

Newbie
I have had issues connecting to Kies " "your device does not support software upgrading via Kies" for a while now, and with the imminent release of ICS, i wanted to check as my phone should be unbranded...

However after doing some "digging", i stumbled upon a site about Firmware codes, i checked mine and it wasnt there, so i Googled it....and it came up with Indian Firmware....

My firmware is: I9100XWKH1/I9100XEWKH1/I9100XXKG5/I9100XWKH1 (XEU) - Taken from Kies...

I purchased this off Amazon in UK and have had no issues at all, however, if i am right, this will be why Kies wont work for me!

if this is the case, anybody know how i can sort this without voiding warranties? I have already "Bricked" one from messing with firmware/rooting...expensive mistake....

My firmware is: I9100XWKH1/I9100XEWKH1/I9100XXKG5/I9100XWKH1 (XEU) - Taken from Kies...

I dont get the above as my firmware code on Kies, it should look more like
PDA:KI4 / Phone:K1 / CSC:KH2 (XEU)

XEU is UK Un branded

if you Type *#1234# in the dail pad it will bring up a little menu, look at CSC if after I9100 it has XEU then you have UK Unbranded firmware (Mine is I9100XEUKH2 and is an unbranded uk handset.

What said you were running Indian Firmware ?

If you google "I9100XWKH1" you will see where it came from :) ill admit i dont know much about firmware codes etc so i may be totally wrong! *hopefully!*

My CSC Code is : I9100XEUKH1 - I assume my Kies is coming up with it like that because it doesnt like the "firmware" i have? - horrible software!

Very handy to read!

Can you have a look at this and give me any advice? - I really don't know what to do! - tried Kies on 4 laptops, 2x PCs and my work Laptop and work PC all come with this - Samsung Support were as good as useless!! :

Any ideas would be appreciated :) - I don't want to "Root" it and void warranty, but if i have to, then i will - I did originally think it may have been because it was "locked" to O2, but my "XEU" code means its unlocked/unbranded so it shouldn't be a problem
