Have they fixed the Emergency 911 problem

Awhile back there was a thread about calling 911 during an emergency and the phone locking up or not making the call, since I can't find that thread or I may have confused it with another forum, I was wondering if it was fixed?

Did your phone act funny after making the call or everything was fine. Too bad you had to call 911 hope everything was ok.

The phone went into 911 mode after the call. The screen brightness dimmed down to what looked like the minimum, and stated that it turned off data for 5 minutes (to allow a better chance of a call back getting through). However, you have the option to turn this setting off, and my evo went back into normal operation.

Thanks for the concern, all was well. Just had to call to let the local PD know that the highway was flooding badly, and idiots were still driving into the ocean of rain water.

Yeah, they do that and then wonder what happened when their cars stall.
Glad everything was ok.

It's not an EVO-wide issue, it's specific EVOs with some sort of GPS issue (any GPS activity crashes the phone, and 911 uses GPS). It wasn't fixed because really, most phones don't suffer from it.

Ok, I just played with GPS on my phone no crashes so I guess it doesn't affect me. Thanks
