Have we gone from Isheep to Gsheep?

Is it just me or does it seem as though we now have Gsheep? Before the Nexus landed we already had people saying it was the greatest phone ever. Yes it has ICS, but what else makes it so outstanding? No microSD, no mass storage connnection, 5mp camera, and a 1.2 processor. Now I know the camera and processor can be debated, but doesn't change the fact that 8mp cameras and 1.5 processors are now the new standard. I just fear we are heading to a time when fans of Android will accept sub-par products and then justify it to themselves like Apple followers do. Isn't this why most of us steer away from Apple products?
 
I agree to with the cautionary tone of your argument, but do keep in mind that clock speed is only half the story. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has a 1.2GHz Exynos processor that's twice as fast as our Snapdragon S3 1.5GHz.

I would have to disagree the exynos isn't twice as fast its faster but twice as fast no

The Nexus has the TI OMAP 4460, not the Exynos. I absolutely agree that the processors and chip sets can be debated, especially since the GPU plays a role in performance too.
 
All I know is Android has finally arrived when Android fanboys are getting compared to Apple, iPhone ones...lol.

It started with the Galaxy S2, probably the Galaxy S1 too.

Some ppl just dont realize or accept the fact that no phone is perfect, every single phone has pros AND cons. Every single one. Every screen does too. Every manufacturer does too.

Exactly like I do have to give it to Apple the gpu on the iPhone is was better than any on android phones or tablets even tegra 3

The Nexus is one out of many Android devices. I don't see folks camping out or forming lines around the country for the Nexus. The beauty of Android is you have a choice. If you want a phone with microSD storage, 8MP camera and more processor power, it's out there. I never heard anyone say the Nexus is the greatest phone ever, maybe the best Android phone right now, but thats all personal opinion.
 
ummm... Gsheep is refering to the Nexus fans only right?? :confused:

Your right I don't see people camping out for the Nexus or any other Android device. I just feel that maybe some people are starting to go to far. It's almost like the console wars. I'm just wondering if by people jumping on this kind of a bandwagon isn't leading down a dark path.
 
There are definitely Android snobs out there, just like isnobs. I decided to try an iphone for my upgrade a week or so ago for the first time ever and had a couple people stick their noses in the air about how Android is so much better. Granted, I miss Android and may end up swapping this thing for a Rezound, but I have to admit that the iphone 4S IS a sleep piece of hardware.

I think you meant to say sleek, but sleep would also work for some people:D.

I think the main reason you don't see people camping out for Android phones IS the choices available. Each carrier has around 15-30 different android models at any one time, each releasing at different times over the entire year. With apple, you have one model with a few different storage options, releasing once a year. If you had one huge concert only once a year, or the same concert every couple of weeks, the yearly one would have a bigger line, it's just common sense.

Granted apple's marketing does play a huge roll as well. It's kinda like how most people call tissues "Kleenex" or refer to reciprocating saws as "Sawzalls". There is a big marketing push behind many products that ends up with many consumers referring to anything like them by a brand name rather than what they actually are. Many people see a touchscreen phone and assume it's an iphone because of the marketing. Then there are consumers a little more in the know who can tell an android from an iphone, but refer to androids as Droids, again because of the marketing (or possibly just shortening it like Matt instead of Matthew).
 
When the Galaxy Nexus hype started rolling, I thought the Nexus would be the best upgrade to my Galaxy S2. But when I read the specs and compared that it hardly impressed me. I almost fell for the hype, but luckily no matter what brand, no matter what OS, I always follow the specs not the hype.

I do feel a sense of flockling amongs the Nexus fanboys.
 
i had an AWFUL nightmare last night...


for some dumb ass reason, i traded my store my rezound for an iphone 4s............and i was SO sad that i did it, and i couldn't get my rezound back....WHY DID I DO IT!? WHY?!?!

needless to say, it was the worst experience of my life....er....dream life. but when i woke up, i felt it. lol :P
 
Ok guys, my first thought was to move this to the Lounge since this is no way about the Rezound.

In reality there is NO need for a thread putting down any group of people, no reason whatsoever.

There are plenty of topics talking about and comparuing the G-nex to EVERY other phone so I'm gonna close this thread.

Feel free to PM me if you have any objections/comments, my door is always open.

And always remember, it is NEVER OK to attack/put down other users for any reason, please !report anything you think needs staff attention :)
