Actually did not send it back - took it to the Sprint store and they fixed it there (about half a day). External speaker went out. Had it about 6 months.

Voted yes, but both times is was 'fixed', it was replaced.

Evo #1 developed a random reboot issue. Repair center did factory reset, didn't help. They replaced it with a refurb.

Evo#2 fell off the roof of my car at 45-50 MPH and busted up into pieces. Filed Assurion claim and had a replacement a day and a half later for the $100 deductible.

Evo #3 was a bad refurb. When the backlight came on you could see where they scraped the back of the screen trying to install it. I called Assurion about 5 mins after firing up the phone and they said no problem and overnighted a replacement.

Evo #4 is a brand new HDW Rev 0004 Evo and so far it's perfect.

I'm very happy with TEP / Assurion.

Kept rebooting. Had it since June '10. They replaced it at the Sprint Phone Center Repair Station with a brandnew phone last Friday. For $35.00, I didn't have insurance. I'm very pleased.

Sure it wasn't a refurbished phone? Did they give you the box and a new charger with the phone? If not, you got a refurbished phone.

I put up the same poll in the most popular phone categories on this forum. Results so far for % of people that have sent their respective phone back for repairs:

HTC Incredible - 11.1%
Motorola Droid X - 20.8%
HTC Droid Eris - 28.6%
HTC Desire - 33.3%
Motorola Droid - 33.3%
Samsung Galaxy S - 33.3%*
HTC Evo 4G - 50%

Make of this what you will. It's not the most diligent of surveys so I'm sure people are going to shoot it down for flaws (some of which I can see myself). It's still useful I think. It'd be nice if we could get some iPhone results too.

*Not enough replies for the SGS yet.
