Help haven't seen this one before .... but my USB keeps falling out...

The data cord will NOT stay in. Picking up the phone dislodges it. Moving the phone a little dislodges it. Looking at the phone too hard dislodges it.

Is anyone else having this problem, or is it possible I have a bum phone? If it's the latter I need to act pretty quickly; they were heading in the direction of selling out this morning at the only corporate store in town.

On the happy side, I am totally diggin' Swype.

Hi all, just picked up my Captivate today as well (Obviously) and its Captivating so far. However yes, the USB does not seat well in the phone, pops out even if you slightly move it. Kind of Frustrating

Make sure your little door is all the way open. The first time I plugged mine in it fell out right away but then I figured out the sliding door had not been open all the way and prevented it from going in all the way. Once I figured that out, it sits in there really snug now.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Well, not glad, of course, but you know what I mean.

If the car charger is the same way it just. won't. work. Why didn't any of those dozens of glowing reviews mention this issue?

edit: well, tlo07, don't I feel silly now. I thought it was all the way open but apparently not. Problem fixed :-) Thank you!

This was mentioned by someone who was able to obtain there's early. Make sure you have the USB door open all the way. You'll feel/hear a click. Same goes for closing it. Mine is fine as long as I make sure the door is open.

Open the Door all the way.
Then you can swing it like a pendulum.
Also, when you put the 3.5mm headset jack you have to push it all the way down.

thank you TLO. After I read your reply on the USB problem, I pushed the door further until the door itself actually "clicked". Then I put the USB back in and it indeed fits quite snugly, which means it was trying to "seat" against the door itself. I thought the door was as far as it would go.
