Root Having a bit of trouble restoring backups...

Tboltfan25

So i just rooted my new tbolt after sending my old one back to VZW, and I flashed TWRP back onto my device, and then I booted into recovery ready to restore my nandroid of BAMF Forever and I have no backups listed..:( please someone tell me im doing something wrong or skipping a step because I would be fairly unhappy if I was unable to restore this.

Did you flash the same version of TWRP?

Yes, I used the same file that was on my PC.

Edit: And on my SD, I can still see the backups from before I switched devices, but when I am in recovery and i hit Restore Partitions, they don't show up for some reason.

When you made the backup do you happen to remember how many of the boxes were checked off? When I first flashed TWRP I made a couple backups with only the first 3 boxes checked. Long story short you have to select the 4th box (forget what it's called, will update when I go back into TWRP later) for your backups to restore properly. I don't know why it's not checked by default, but after manually checking it once you'll never have to again

youll need to go into the twrp folder, either on your pc,or in a file manager, into the "backups" folder, and then rename "HTxxxxx" to whatever the serial number of your new device is.

its not finding them due to the serial number difference. alternatively, you could make a backup, mount your sd card to your pc(put your phone in disk drive mode),then drag all your backups from the old "HTxxx" folder to the new(making a backup will create the new file for you) :)

While we're on the topic of backups here, I have a question about Titanium. If I want to backup all my apps and data do I select backup all user apps and system data? I could have sworn restoring system data was a no no?

While on the topics of backups I have a question. If I'm upgrading to a new device and I back up app + app data on one device can I restore that app + app data to a new device or is their some kind of incompatibility?

should be no prollem, since titanium stores things in a generalized manner. i dont think its devices specific,so once you install titanium on the new device you should be able to run "restore missing apps+data"

Thanks, that's great news!(especially since Phandroid says the Galaxy Nexus is coming to Verizon still, I was nervous after what was posted last night))
